This may be dumb but im learning to fix up (i cant say restore yet) older bikes. You were able to go from a 6 speed to a 10 speed cassette?

Yes, it's totally possible- keep in mind if you're spreading the rear end- 126 to 130 is doable for a lot of bikes- especially bikes with long chainstays.

Now- you might not want to be bumping up a 14 year old thread that hasn't been posted in for the past 11 years- some of those people don't post here anymore.

If you're interested in upgrading a bike like that- this is a thread to peruse- and ask questions in:

Txs new to forums too….I saw one of these and am thinking of updating it as id like to consider upright flat bars and ditch the drops (60 but feelingolder!)
