Tifosi
I'm considering buying a pair of their Ventoux model: https://tifosioptics.com/interchangeable/ventoux.html The price is perfect for me, and the interchangeable lens option is as well. Any experiences?
Thanks.
Thanks.

I had a pair of their Envys (I think) that one of my dogs ate, and I replaced it with a pair of their Pavés (T-V235), and I quite like them. The red Photec lenses work well in a wide range of light conditions, and they fit my big, fat head pretty well. They seem durable, though not enough to withstand the assault of a hyperactive Yorkie...
I assume you've actually tried them to be sure they fit well.

I have a pair that change based on the light and no need to change lenses. I love them. When I am on a club ride I hear others trying to decide on which lense to wear and sometimes make the wrong selection. I never have to worry 1 pair the entire day.

I have a pair of slipstreams (i think thats the model). They are ok. They come with 4 lenses, dark, rose, yellow, and clear. Normally by the end of the season, they start to break (on the one piece lenses, they'll eventually turn to two, and the rubber on the ear piece starts to break down) but they are pretty much 1/5th the price of normal name brand stuff, so as long as you can get a year from them, they're a great deal.

I also have a pair of the Pave's with the red photec lenses. I love having the tint change and not having to change lenses.. just put them on and go no matter what the sun is doing.

I've got 5-6 pair of Tifosi glasses, one of which is the Ventoux with the new 2010 "photochromic" lenses. I highly recommend them.
The lenses change tint much faster than the old Fototec lenses. The shades darken a lot within 10 seconds.
Now the frames are a little weird looking on my face, but they're for racing. The shape of them makes it so they don't sit on your face, making fogging and sweaty lenses a thing of the past, which more than makes up for the weird (for me) shape.

I have the 09 Ventoux's, they are comfortable to wear and the lenses are great, my only complaint is they do fog easily. There is not a lot of space between the bottom of the frame and my cheekbone. A few teammates complain of the same fogging issue. I don't have the fogging problem with glasses that the frame does not go all the way around the lense.
They are nice glasses and priced right. Worth a try.

I'm on my second pair of Alpe's (I have a narrow face.) First pair is still alive and kicking after 3 or 4 years of near constant use living in Tucson. The lenses are a little scratched, but still very usable and the frames are in great shape.
The new pair have the red fototec lenses. I'm really happy with the new ones so far...

Here's the thing. The new photochromic lenses darken to about 90% of full tint in under 20 seconds, then they slowly darken over the period of an hour or two to their darkest state.
When fully darkened, they're about as dark as regular Tifosi dark lenses.

I've got the GT Fototec (which has been improved) on the Ventoux' and the EC on a pair of Vogels. The Vogels aren't that great for cycling, more for style, but both do their job, and do it well.

I keep getting scratches and chips on my lenses, but that could just be bad luck when I wear this pair (bright sun only) and not when I wear the Cat-1 pair (commuting and varying/low light).

I have two pairs of the Vogels. One with the red "fototec" lenses and another with the very light gray lenses. I love them. The lenses are large enough to keep the wind/rain/bugs out of my eyes and there isn't any frame to obstruct my view when in the drops. They are light and comfortable enough that I can forget that I am wearing them. I picked up my last pair (the gray ones) for $40 shipped overnight from Endless.com. The "fototec" ones were a bit more when I bought them a few months ago.

I have a pair of Tifosi's and they're awesome. I was considering getting some Oakleys or something pricey, but saw a women's pair on sale (Gavia, I believe?) and have been perfectly happy with them.
They fit my face great, the lenses are easy to swap out, and they're snug and comfy for both riding and running.
