Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Gave the emonda a deep clean today. More than yesterday. The drive train was gross.
No pots were used in my cleaning duties today.

I paid too much for my first two cars, but since then we've been much more disciplined. It's amazing what you can do with a sales flyer, as long as you are okay with the "bait" car they use for the bait-and-switch.

OTOH, when I bought the Dodge, it was something like $8000 off MSRP in the ad, and all I had to do was drive up to Santa Rosa to pick it up. I even emailed to say, "Is this price for real?"

2024 hyundai santa fe is pretty nice. Wife got all excited because it was advertising 35000 which we could trade the mazda in almost no money extra.

Well by the time she is done getting what she wants it’s right back up to 50k……..

No joy

I forget what we paid for Mrs. GJ's Sienna, 23 years ago, but it's been worth it. The VHS player and the little TV kept The Boys entertained on several long trips, plus it's pretty good as a hauler, and she loves it so much she won't even consider trading it in for anything else.

I've paid sticker price for the one/couple? of new bikes I've ever purchased. I haven't brought a new car ever (or a car from a dealer). Not much price negotiation has happened with my car purchases.

Since the camera is working again I took it with me today. They didn't want to stop for photo ops so I tried to snap some while riding. At some point I accidentally switched the thing to video mode and got 5 crappy short videos which filled up the memory before I got some of the pics I really wanted. While out there I can barely hear the sounds it make and I can't read the tiny screen in the sun. Anyway I got a few.

Out past the last traffic light heading into the boonies.

Bridge over the railroad track and creek bed, just past Tippie Hedron's Lions, which is now called something else.

Not very many cars on this road.

These rocks look a lot more red when you're there.

Different road on the return trip.

I remember our pediatrician told us that babies are smart when it comes to food, and adults are weird. We eat for all sorts of reasons, some being social or emotional. Babies eat when they are hungry, and stop when they are not.
They say you gotta eat to recover.

My grand caravan crew comes with three blue ray players, hook up for my xbox, blue tooth head phones, and and and Trippy blue ceiling lights.

I don’t think I have ever hooked an xbox up to it.

Never negotiate from MSRP. Negotiate from invoice, holdbacks, and incentives.
