Check out the "how big is the miyata cult" and "post you touring bikes" threads you'l see a lot of these. Like all Miyatas they are very well loved and appreciated. You'll see many say that every Miyata punches above it's weight. They made their own proprietary tubing and even the entry level Miyatas from the period are great riders.

I like it so much I actually have two! Great bikes. Quality components. The wheels are very nice - strong rims and sealed, cartridge bearing hubs. The lite action derailleurs and shifters work great. Really no need to change anything on these, unless you just feel like it, or for fit/ comfort. I have a Brooks saddle on mine and Panaracer Pasela 1-1/4x27 tires.

same miyata 610 as mine and i loved it

During this era, Miayata were arguably the best of the mass volume bicycle manufacturers and they were particulalry well regarded for theit grand touring bicycles. The 610 model was a well appointed mid-range model that offered good value for its price point.

I have a Two Ten of the same vintage (1985) and find it to be a very nice bike! Something about the camera angle and position of the handlebar makes the drop on the right side appear disproportionately “huge” . The frame looks like a 19 1/2” (I believe the smallest in the touring frame line). I’m wondering if there’s enough seat post in the seat tube and enough stem quill in the steerer tube? Looks questionable to me . I put a longer seat post in mine to allow me to to to get a proper saddle height . I still have the OEM saddle on mine but would also like to get a Brooks. Some may think that it’s “Fredish” but I’ve left the stock foam handlebar pads on mine. They do make for a a very comfy ride! The OP snagged a “keeper” for sure ​​​​​​​.

I would agree on making sure this fits you if the stem and seat post heights are your doing.

Seat post and stem have been lowered to a safe position. Both were above min insertion. Prior rider was 5'9" while i am 5'5". It is a 19 1/2 inch frame and fit is good for my more upright riding position. Will probably swap out bars for something a little wider. Have some nitto drop bars in the parts bin.

Seller also had a miyata 1000 in what looked Like a 25 inch frame. I'm guessing a husband\wife pairing originally. He sold the 1000 for $50 as it had flat tires, bent rim, and noticeably more wear\tear.

It looks just like my 21" 610. Did you measure center to top? Does the top tube slope down toward to seat tube?

Center of crank to top of seat tube. I have several older steel bikes in various sizes between 19-21. Pretty sure it is 19 1/2.

Ya, I’m pretty sure it’s a 19 1/2” frame too. Unless the frames of the Two Tens & Six Tens have different design specs, my 21” Two Ten (just measured it) has about a 1” space between the lugs on the headtube. Yours has a gap much smaller than that.

Not trying to be disagreeable, but I just measured my '85 610, and there's 1/2" between the lugs measured on the headtube. It could still be a 19 1/2, I guess, if the top tube slopes down, or the bottom bracket drop was less. Anyway, if it fits that's what matters. Here's a picture of my 21" '85:
Edit: I think you're right. It looks smaller than mine. Guess I need to go get my eyes re-calibrated.

i wasn’t sensing any “disagreeablity”. In fact, I was questioning my position thinking that there might actually be significant differences in frame geometry between a Two Ten & a Six Ten. I was of the thinking that the differences between the Two Ten & Six Ten were primarily the group sets, brakes, saddles, etc. and not so much the frames. It’s prolly best to acknowledge what the OP is actually measuring! I think that you and I both have 21” frames but the OP’s Six Ten has a 19 1/2” frame.
