Can anyone put a date on this tubing decal?
I'm trying to put a date to a frame I recently purchased. I was told '85-'86 by the seller, but I think it's more likely '87-'88. It's a mountain bike so a period build is completely different for those two timeframes. I've found Tange Prestige decals from this period, but I'm not getting any matches. Anyone out there a Tange decal expert?

What frame is that? A Fat Chance? Chainstay brakes?
Here's a chart of lots of Tange labels. Probably more recent than the 80s.
This is the Tange Prestige decal from my '88 Schwinn KOM-10. Yours looks different than any Prestige label I've seen, so I'm guessing it's earlier. The seller's estimate is probably correct.

It's a Land Shark. It's a one off custom so it makes comparing it to other frames to get a date nearly impossible. And yes, chainstay brakes so I think my date range is close. XT 730 came out in '87, but I built the bike up with Deerhead thinking pre-87. In the grand scheme of things, it only matters to my curious mind.

Land Shark, that was my other guess for crazy paint jobs.
These top-end vintage MTBs are awesome bikes. I use mine for an around-town cruiser and winter bike (w studs), but I'm thinking about making it more of a gravel tourer.
