Hello back! Fellow Springfieldian here, just got back into it the past year after a 21 year hiatus. Finding it a little scarier riding south and west of town, with all of the new construction in recent years, but the Farm Roads are offering a fair amount of distance and climbing challenge, with enough solitude from traffic to help build the miles back up.

I live in South St. Louis. Riding in the city is OK (I commute to work when I can - just 3 miles). The weekday evening rides are fun too in the summer.
I grew up in the rural Ozarks (east of Springfield) and really love riding down there. Lot of rural, empty, steep, and scenic two-lane highways to fly down. Motorists even wave at me. Missouri is a very underrated cycling state - we have thousands and thousands of miles of beautiful rural highways to ride on, much of those with little to no traffic.

"I plan on putting on a few miles around town before I see where else I want to ride. But would love to do the Frisco next spring."

Hey Terry,
I rode the Frisco Highline in the spring of 2010 and really enjoyed it. Have been wanting to go back ever since, but just haven't made it yet, it's a bit of a drive to get to Bolivar for me. I ride the Katy mostly, but really enjoyed the Frisco Highline, it's a little rougher than the Katy, but not bad at all. It's a fun ride!
Welcome Bigdog EMT!

Newer member checking in. Lifetime Missourian, grew up in SEMO, then to the KC area for a few years after high school. Spent 2002 - 2011 in STL (West County / St. Peters), and just moved back to SEMO in September.
I try to commute when I can (18 miles round trip), but really miss the Katy. Never raced, but maybe someday lol.

Jefferson City here. Riding is much better now that the bridge across the Missouri is done. Now if we can just get a few more bike lanes and paths...

St. Peters here. Currently in school in Rolla though. Do most of my riding on the trails around Creve Coeur Lake in St. Charles. Looking for new places there and here in Rolla!

I've got numerous routes I take out of Liberty, ranging from around twelve miles to thirty-five for my weekly riding. On the weekends I'll usually take a bit longer route. PM me if you want to hit the road. I'm out of school at the end of the week and will be more flexible for the next two months.

I've been riding every Saturday AM with my neighbor...we typically average around 12 to 14 mph and top out around 35 to 40 miles...
If you'd like to join us, it's an early AM ride...usually start around 6:30-7 due to summer temps...PM me and I'll give you details and a meet up spot

I'll keep this thread alive - I'm in St. Louis (Shaw Neighborhood) and a daily commuter to downtown.
