Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

...anyone know if there's any truth to the rumor that they will be coming out with Di2 Ziploc bags next year ? If so, I'm gonna wait to replace mine.

+1

Also, since I don't wear a wallet, I use one to hold my credit card and other cards while in my bike bag.

I just bought a 50-bag lot of 6mil 4" wide x 6" long bags which are a better shape for my phone. Just peel the bag down a bit and I can use my camera, without getting my grubby fingers all over the phone. 6mil is too thick though, shoulda gone for 4 mil. Work well though!

Not Ziploc brand tho...

I prefer the Ziploc® quart freezer bags. The pink and blue color scheme is definitely faster than the older yellow and blue.

It's important to check before each ride for possible irregularities in the plastic. I once had a bag asplode while riding.

Just fill them until they reach the weight limit.

My Ziploc® is an old model with just the pressure sealed zip and color change. Would I appreciate upgrading to the Slideloc style?

Well, I guess I'm really flirting with disaster - Great Value brand sammich size bags, pressure seal zipper, no color change and a CF bike. Assplosion imminent.

In all seriousness, I have had Ziplocs fail. So, I carry my stuff in a small dry bag.

If I could find a good Slideloc model my size on CL at a good price, I'd consider it, but I'd worry how much the extra weight would affect my average mph.

The obvious 41 answer is to take a dump before your ride to offset the extra weight.

Ziplock is a pedestrian bag at best made for light consumer use. Like I mentioned before, go Zip-Pak or you take your chances with a run-of-the-mill POS bag.

And who doesn't drope that hammer pre-ride anyway? ceteris paribus. Take those fredly zippers to the commuter forum.

Again, the 41 will inform you that owning lightweight cycling anything and taking a dump a mutually exclusive. Only people with heavy stuff can poop.

FWIW a friend did this- not for biking purposes though- and lost nearly 2 pounds. But how does one regulate the timing of the event? If it occurs too early before the ride commences, it might as well not have happened.

One could arrange a Ziploc filled with liquid at a certain height with tube affixed, and...
