Presumably, no one. You were the one who pretended that was the goal.
What was the purpose of your ridiculous attack on indoor riding? The mud slinging is coming from your direction.

I'm pretty sure some of the people I saw in the gym yesterday could snap your bike's frame in half with their bare hands.
Cyclists have bigger necks? Cool Story, bro!
This is the age of the keyboard warrior, bravely calling other people wimps from the safety of anonymity.
BTW, I'm pretty sure an enlarged neck is a key indicator of steroid abuse. Are you confessing something here?

His specialty is ridiculous attacks supported by wild claims he can’t substantiate.

When I was younger I used to ride outdoors in all weathers. Now I just ride in conditions that I actually enjoy. Right now it's freezing and damp outside and the last thing I would want to do is ride my bike. I have a decent indoor trainer setup and frankly it is more enjoyable in these conditions. I'm not aversed to cold weather (clue being I'm a very keen skier) but I'm not a big fan of riding bikes in freezing weather. The whole thing loses it's appeal for me once the weather turns nasty. Might as well wrap up and take to the skis at that point. Biking outdoors is a 3-season activity for me unless we get some freakish warm winter days.

It was 38 this morning when I went for my run. I was warmed up when I returned and the dog was ready for her walk to the duck pond so that happened next. Because my work schedule changed and I got no exercise last week, I decided to take a spin on a bike and by that time it was 48. I'm just here reporting that I lived.

I went for a long bike ride early this morning along our popular waterfront trail which runs along Lake Ontario in Toronto, the temperature was 30 F and it was snowing pretty good. I was amazed at how many people were jogging and exercising outdoors. majority of these runners were older folks in their 50s , 60s , and 70s. There were also few people who brought their yoga mats and were doing yoga, stretching and calisthenics inside a gazebos which are found in the parks along the lake. None of them died.

Where did he "apply" it to anybody? If you don't want an "excuse", then it doesn't apply on its own terms. It's information, if it doesn't apply, skip the thread.

Who are the most fit people in the world?
Cross country skiers.
Who can lift the most weight?
People from Ukraine.
Who has the skinniest bodies?
People who live near the equator.
Riding in harsh conditions will toughen you up and make you live longer with less disease.

It's called self-selection; people who enjoy cold weather and don't have health issues with it go out on in it and are fine.. Shocking, I know.

BTW, cross country skiing isn't cycling, so that's definitely a non sequitur.

Right, what about that has anything to do with the conditions rather than the nature of the activity creating that higher level of fitness?
"XC skiers are super fit, therefore cold weather working out is better for you " is missing many, many logical steps.
