Drum brakes worked just as well as disk did on the initial braking action, they stopped the cars, in a panic they would lock up the tires, and it was the tires adhesion to the pavement that stopped the car, not that they were drums or disks. The major issue with drum brakes was overheating and they would fade with repeated braking, the disk can do to. Brake Pad Fade (Mechanical Fade):
- Occurs with disc brakes.
- When a brake pad operates beyond its designed maximum temperature range, its friction material (brake lining) starts to degrade.
- Dynamic Brake Fade:
- Can happen with both disc brakes and drum brakes.
- In disc brakes, dynamic fade often results from using low-quality or unsuitable brake pads. It can also occur due to brake caliper lag (where the caliper remains stuck to the rotor even after releasing the brake pedal).
- In drum brakes, dynamic fade occurs when the brake material or friction surface of the brake shoe vaporizes at elevated temperatures.
- Brake Fluid Fade:
- Brake fluid can also experience fade due to excessive heat.
- When brake fluid overheats, it can form air bubbles, leading to a spongy brake pedal feel and reduced braking performance.

Picked up a new blendr light mount for the madone gen 7. Went with a different one, All my bikes have the MTB light mount, It’s nice, has a place for cables and such, However, the mount seems to wear out quickly and the light has a lot of play. My madone had started making a rattling noise and I could not figure out what it was. Took the light off and the noise stopped.
Also picked up a bat cage for the underside cage mount on my checkpoint. Dining a longer gravel ride on monday so need all the water I can carry. My camelback sketches me out.

Check out this place for some 3D printed stuff. I bought a number of items from them for the tail lights as the Bontrager mounts as you said, weak or wear out. These are much better. They have a bunch of stuff, if you search terms like Trek, Bontrager, Garmin, Wahoo, etc. I bought the Bontrager tail light \ varia mount that attaches to my Versus saddle. It is fantastic, pricey, but worth it.

Check out this place for some 3D printed stuff. I bought a number of items from them for the tail lights as the Bontrager mounts as you said, weak or wear out. These are much better. Is this the wheelset? Its 1740g...what is the weight of your current wheelset? I would figure a 20" low profile box rim wheelset would weigh less than 1740g.
Admittedly though, I know nothing about the component weights of folding bikes.

Is that the crazy expensive and heavy Bontrager commuter pro light*? I bought one and it rattled from minute one. Replaced it with the slightly less expensive but still overpriced one.

Used it for 4 years. No issues. I ride mostly at 4 am in the dark so it works well. Better than any other brand I have used.
