Take down closed forums?
Two forums have been closed and put out of their misery lately: the COVID forum (which had definitely outlived its usefulness) and Politics & Religion (sad trombone). They are still listed on the main page as if they were open forums. I realize that the general rule around here is that stuff stays up as an archive, but shouldn't they either be removed from the active forums list or noted as no longer accepting posts? This has got to be confusing to newcomers.

New forum members couldn't post in P+R anyway.

Also, the P&R still has the sticky "How to Gain Access" posting, so I'd think adjusting that will probably save you from answering the same inquiry again and again.

P & R had the 2nd or 4th most posts depending on how you tally... seems like a shame to lock out everyone because a few obsessive wacks seemed to monopolize the thread ... it's like shutting the neighborhood bar down because some bikers keep getting in fights and raising hell at midnite ...................................... maybe a reopening after a month or so suspension .................. without Trump to hate on the thread did seem to degenerate into inanities that made little sense, had trite humor, and was put off by sarcasm aimed at Biden/dems ... in any case the Mods know best no matter what jack er crack pot thinks
