Missing plates on R8000 pedals

These are carbon pedals that have three metal plates on them for the cleat to ride on. Are the plates a replacable part? One pedal is missing 2 and the other is missing 1. I can't see how they're held on, there's no evidence adhesive was used and I don't see any mechanical means to hold them on. They only have about 1000km on them
