08 Portland Cycle Wear Wool Jersey Group Buy
Would anyone be game for another group buy for the 08 styles? I was in on it last year and seemed like alot of people were into it. There are some new styles and a tighter fitting cut to the jeresey's this year. The jersey's are all without logo's. Long Sleeve pricing for 12-29 orders is $56 a piece normally $78 for one, Short sleeve pricing for 12-29 orders would be $52.00 normally $72.
I'd be into organizing the buy if everyone feels comfortable with that. I know I don't have a high post count around here but I do have an ebay account as a seller and buyer with 100% positive feedback (search ryan7308). Let's see how many people would be into it and take it from there!

Do you have the pricing reversed? shouldn't long sleeve be more expensive. I hate to say it but I am a no logo kind of guy. I'd be down if they were blank.
I teetered last year and didn't do in because I didn't really like the logo.

Sorry I did have one price wrong. The Jersey's do not come with any logo btw. You can have them custom flock them if you want but for simplicity's sake, It'd be easier if everyone did prefer a logo-less jersey.

I'm in for a (most likely) long sleeve. Been wanting a wool jersey for a long while now.

I'm probably in...I need to go look up the company/jerseys, since I'm completely unfamiliar.
I bought my first wool jersey this winter, and I LOVE it. I could definitely use another.

Looks like they no longer offer the full zip trainer which is what I would want. I've heard the quality and customer service are kinda meh anyway.

aww i was all for getting one, but that type of response from them for an honest question puts me off. If there was another company that had a better reputation I would but for it.

Although I've never had any personal dealings with Chad from Portland Cycle Wear I can say that everything went fine as far as the group buy last year. They did take a while to recieve as they had to be shipped to Robo and then individually sent off to each person in the group buy. If I recall correctly it was something like six weeks. The Jersey's are a good deal not only cause we're buying them in bulk through a group buy, but also cause they are made in China. Do a search and look around for a reasonably priced wool jersey. There is no such thing especially without a logo of some sort. Personally I refuse to be a billboard for any company and am certainly not stupid enough to spend money to advertise for them. So far these are the only jersey that I've found that are reasonably priced and have a classy old scool look.
In Chad's defense I think he was just pissed off at a customer who was trying to get a little freebie action out of him. I think his sarcasm was misunderstood and he admits his responses were "unprofessional". Here's his responses to the fixedgeargallery.com thread:
The origin tags missing was unintentional. I didn't even now it. As for the email response. Your right it was totally not professional.
My clothing does not come sweatshop Labor.
Howler wrote - "I wish I would have done this investigating before I purchased one a couple of months ago". Me to Howler! If you had one already, why did you ask for three more free samples? You could have contacted me about where they came from when you received the first.
Howler Also wanted to know "Exactly" where in China they were made. Is there a magic map I don't know about that lists what city and street sweat shop labor is located? You can understand why I was leery.
I have had all origin tags on my jerseys for the last four years. This was simply a miss at the factory on the spring grouping.

Eww. I was thinking about this, because I've been dreaming about a wool jersey. But then I read the FGG thread posted by coelcanth. Never mind.
Is there a better provider?
I have to do this soon, because I'm going back to the poor hou, er, graduate school this fall.

I'm interested...but with a question. Do they have any "plain" blue short-sleeve jerseys like the other colors (mainly red & black)? I do not mean the "royal blue" with the vertical stripes. I'm basically looking for this, but in BLUE:
If so, I'm interested in 1 short sleeve blue jersey.
edit: I'm out of luck: "The 08 side stripe blue has a cream body yes. The 07 classic side stripe academy blue looks like the attached." --Chad Krueger
