Richmond rumors? VA that is!
I've been hearing rumblings of a multi-sport, multi-use park of some kind in the Richmond, VA area.
Anyone here know if we're gonna get a new track with that?

Richmond VA is host to the 2015 UCI Road World Championships, I would not doubt if they are ramping up towards having facilities, racers, community who are supportive of the up coming world championships!!! ps. have room for a boarder come 2015?

If I'm still in NoVA in 2015, sure.
I just picked up spokes for a front wheel. D/A low-flange track/GL330 or Campy Crono box-section tubular. Fixin to go build it up on this rainy Tuesday.

The proposed velodrome is part of a sports training complex going up in Chesterfield county, just off Midlothian turnpike. At this writing, said complex consists of a bunch of soccer fields and an ice rink. It's hard for me to tell just what the chances for a velodrome are-- I know it's in the mix, but the guy in charge of the entire thing is a real whealer dealer and is trying to sell the whole thing as community development-- in other words, he seems to be fishing for a lot of gubbamint dollars. But who knows, with the Worlds in 2015, we might just get a velodrome. Interestingly, the "Sportsquest" website has no mention of a velodrome on it anywheres. It's not even on a list of their future facilities.

The county has bent over backwards and gotten in bed pretty deep with the owner which does not sit well with a lot of people in Chesterfield.
