From BikeSnobNYC, which basically started out as the Jackass blog. **** is so straight-faced and the content so ludicrous that I can't tell if the vid is ironic or not.

I think it's a joke. Backpack, etc. Also the singer doesn't seem into it - almost like he's embarrassed by it lol.

It begs of a chicken or the egg quandary:
Does dude run his rear axle practically hanging out of his fork ends to accommodate the seat tube pad or does dude run the seat tube pad to make his clearance look tite when he rocks the way-back axle?

I carry my bike up and downstairs every day and I've never considered a top tube pad. are people resting their nuts on these or walking miles at a time while holding their bikes or something? I've never totally understood those pads for basic riding

Shouldering a Mash is pretty rough due to the inverted triangle shaped of the TT, but I carried mine 2 miles to the LBS once without once entertaining the idea of a TT pad.

Yeah I mean, because how often do you have to carry it that far? Like 5 times a year... if you're unlucky
and yeah the mash is definitely more brutal on the shoulder from the shape, but at least it's nice and light

Cuz hipsters love the worst parts of 60's - 80's fashions. What better chunk of the early 80s bike fashion besides pads?
I reckon if I did much stunting on a bike that's too big for me I'd want pads, too.
