Cars and Coffee and a Raleigh Super Course

Local cars and coffee event today on my regular bike route. Some amazing cars. And amazing weather. And my amazing Super Course Mk II.

And a small-flared 289 body at that, instead of a fat-fendered 427 style. Maybe real? In that photograph, I see no "that's a replica" giveaways. And someone should make replicas of the Ace 2.6, no flares at all.

Anyway, the Raleigh looks nice, great colors. But pedal reflectors**********? I guess it makes sense if you ride dawn or dusk.

I passed by one today in Ventura California. Sometimes I stop and cruise through the classic cars but it was warm today so I just kept pedaling. A cool concept would be to include vintage bikes.

I took the other reflectors off the bike when I got it. I dont find the pedal reflectors offensive. To tell you the truth I dont even notice them. What I do find offensive are all the daytime headlights flashing, and blinky tail lights. Turn them off! Night time use only please.

Always liked the mark Ii supercourse paint. The contrasting panels are so classy looking. As for lights I use dynamo hubs so they are generally always on but a bit subdued. Glorious at night too!

Around here, I can always tell that motorists see me a LOT sooner, and give me more space, with lights on during the day. Sorry if it offends anyone.

That Targa is cute as a button. And is that TWO MG TC/TDs I see?

I believe you are correct. In my experience, best admired from afar.

The color is not my preference but that 300 SL is majestic.
