Specialized Satin Black chip repair
Got some bad chips down to the aluminium and some scratches. Wanted to see if anyone could recommend a wax to bring back the satin black finish.
I got some tips from the GCN video and some forum posts.
Here’s what I’ve done so far for the big chips:
Clean the chip area with alcohol
Sanded down area with 240 grit
Applied a few layers of primer
Once dried, I sanded down with 800 grit
Applied a few layers of satin black paint
Once dried, I wet sanded with 1200 grit
The area is faded (not scratched) now and seen that most people use a wax and buff it to bring out the glossy finish. I wanted to know if anyone could recommend a wax to bring back the satin black finish?
Thanks

You can wear sand with 2000 grit (auto parts store).
Waxes and polishes will only increase the shine.
Matte/satin finishes are not easily brought back to life, and the paints are hard to color match.
