I got this beast of a flat wrench. It's ~3mm thick with a 35mm and 36mm open-end. Hoping this comes in handy around the shop. Taking a risk on buying diesel mechanic tools made in China, but it came with some pretty solid reviews.

If it fits and is in good condition then it's a deal, in my opinion. One never regrets a steel, lugged Trek; also in my opinion of course.

Sadly I'm still waiting on my Goggles and Dust book. I bought it and forgot to change to my new address in Michigan from my old Oregon address. I've been wanting this book for awhile but strangely kept passing it up and now that I bought it and in USPS limbo. Not sure why this wouldn't get route to my new address with our change of address forms.

Yeah it's in excellent condition. A couple of scratches here and there but I'd say the frame and parts are in very good shape. I'll probably re-tape the handlebar with brown tape to match the saddle.

The top tube is a little too long for my short arms and torso but I think a shorter reach stem should fix it. There are some 60 mm reach stem on ebay, are there stems shorter than 60 mm? If anyone has a short quill stem in the parts bin, hit me up!

Got me a box on the doorstep yesterday.

A Stronglight crank that came on a Super Course so I am told.
pedals are unknown, made in England with 501 and I and R printed over each other.

BB is a mix of Brompton/Brampton cups with a Phillips spindle. Going on my early Dawes or Rapidex.

Pretty sure my handlebar is the standard 25.4 mm in diameter. Cinelli stem sounds like it's going to be expensive and I'm on a budget, not looking to spend much money on a stem! Anyway, send me a pm and let's see if this will work out.

Playing with fit - this 120 will replace a 110 of the same. Needs a bit of cleanup; was surprised to see off-white paint-fill that I might leave or redo depending on how the color compares with the frame transfers in the sunlight.

Got two boxes of Shimano M089's in the mail from Zappos, sizes 42E and 43E. The goal was to get roomier SPD shoes for long brevets and return whichever pair didn't fit, but I'm unsure that even the 43E's will be big enough. Hmm.

Wow, that's cleaning up nicely.

There is some work left to do, but it's a big improvement already.

Are you going to reroute the brake cables to the other side of the bars?

on the fence about it. not sure how i feel about cables between my hands and the bars.. ill probably fold to aesthetics and do it when i replace the cables but maybe I am just too used to aero brakes at this point!

edit: I needed new cables and housing anyway so I changed it and it seems fine and certainly looks better. also new tires - shes coming along.

Long time coming. Will belong to the 62 Raleigh Gran Sport but I'm sure they will wander around on the 62 Rudge Rapide I am working on now.

Ordered this Italian-threaded ISIS bb for my Cinelli, for a Stronglight Pulsion crankset.
The bike was getting so noisy it almost got tossed into traffic.

Right after I ordered it, I realized the bb shell was English-threaded. Those Italians.

By the time it arrived from Ukraine, the bike was almost to the part-out stage, noisy and maddening.
So much so that I pulled the Italian cups from this and tried to swap in the English cups from the old bb.
It worked. Of course, in the meantime, I ordered a $100 bb from Texas, that I will not need.

To my chagrin, the bb is now dead quiet, the noise is actually the rear hub. Aaargh!

It's a reprieve for the bike, as I was almost to the point of parting it out.
Now, I've just got to see how to tear down and rebuild a White Industries hub.

Just goes to show ya, stay with steel.
