Incoming Tommasini Techno

Notified by the dealer that it will ship to me in the next couple days. Teaser thumbnail is what he sent me. I'm delighted with the colors! Will update when the steed arrives. Thanks for looking! Update: Day 1 photo at post #10

Loves me some skinny tubes 'n tires!

What's counts as skinny? I'm on 23mm sew-ups as I've been since dinosaurs roamed the planet. I don't see that changing unless I can no longer buy them.

I love the frame, but the Campy modern four arm crank and non-quill stem are giving me the irrits. Why why why do modern parts have to be such eyesores.

I'm feelin' ya, man. I went with Centaur in order to have silver running gear instead of the uninspiring black you get with Chorus. Trying to stay period-correct.

just picked up the completed ride from LBS. commitments preclude an inaugural ride today but soon!

thanks for looking!

this is Italian Stallion #2 . . . thinking red tape (and, perhaps, saddle) might look good in the future
gotta remember how to spell Tommasini . . . two m's and one s

That’s a simply stunning frame, so much Italian goodness. Pure eye candy. It’s too bad today’s modern components can’t do it justice.

EDIT: I see that sentiment was already expressed in post no. 3.

Everything about that frame harkens back to an earlier era, from the chromed lugs to the tubing manufacturer to the frame material itself. Virtually nothing about it says “modern era.” And in my opinion, neither should the parts.

Those parts do a disservice to a gorgeous frame, regardless if they’re “period correct.”

I was looking for NOS Campy Athena on the 'net a little earlier but had no success. Silver Athena would look righteous!

Definitely! Going forward, that would be my hobby within my hobby: keeping a sharp lookout for NOS Athena.

Looking forward to a ride report, and some close-up pictures— especially those stunning chrome lugs.

Just stunning and those are over-sized tubes, not normal diameter tubes! (:

Please post more riding pictures and give us your riding impressions!
