2016 van moots s-3 nexus

hi guys and gals. i recently ran across a van moots s-3 for sale on my local cl. the item is described as either a nexus 8 speed internal, or a 3 speed.its not very clear as to witch one. so doing a search on the interwebs, i've discovered absolutley nothing on this model. seems that its now an ebike with 4 automatic gears, but i'm not for sure it wasn't an ebike even then, as it has wiring via front hub for front and back lights intergrated in the frame. the price is good for an internal hubbed bike, but i don't want an ebike quite yet. maybe in the future plus. the ebike weight is said to be 47lbs and thats alot for an old man to toss on the bike rack. anyone here know anything of these bikes. its certainly an unusual looking bike. it can be seen in the winston salem nc cl if that would help anyone . it has lots of pictures, even has a front basket. thanks guys and gals. !

"47 lbs."... Ebike... just a guess....

and experience tells us that Ebikes for really low prices means the battery and/or motor is dead.
then again, you never Know until you Go... look.

i've gotten some really great deals at times....

Is this the one?
https://winstonsalem.craigslist.org/...626527741.html
If so, the ad is pretty wishy washy. Seems like a 2016 B Series three speed = not E bike?
Buyer beware. Test ride.

that's the bike, if it wasn't an e bike I'm interested, the shifter on handlebars almost looks like an 8 speed window. 25 mile trip to see it tho. Front dynamo and rear hub, gotta be heavy.

after seeing the ad and realizing that you are the one calling it "47 lbs." i'd say that someone replaced the e-motor with an 8 speed rear hub...or it was a 3 speed originally, then got upgraded to an 8 speed.

but once again.. FIND OUT.. some people have not one tiny clue about what they're selling....others will describe every nut and bolt... this owner appears to know that decals were removed, so... FIND OUT FROM THEM what's happening with the bike.

PS..it's a Van MOOF... Moots makes some REALLY nice titanium bikes... a Van MOOF isn't one of those...

I’ve seen these Van Moof (not to be confused with Moots) bikes before, basically they have a dynamo that powers lights that are integrated into the frame. Pretty sure they weigh less than 47 lbs. As far as I know they don’t make an e bike.

I stand corrected. It’s been several years since I’ve seen one but none that I worked on were ebikes back then.

This is a pre-E-bike VanMoof but I would pass on any of them. Their e-bikes make a lot of cool sounds and are clean looking and that is about it the quality just isn't there and they are not very user friendly or set up for people of different sizes. They do have excellent support for new product but not really applicable here. I would personally pass
