Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

DougRNS this week you should go to nearby Eastman and get a fresh holiday Pecan Log Roll. Maybe Stephanie will autograph it.

Bummer. If you had gone home for the holiday maybe Santa would have fixed your gall bladder last night.

Well, I managed my first cycling activity in a month this afternoon and it didn't inhibit my pedal stroke. See Strava. 60F+ and light traffic. Couldn't pass on that.

It is tempting. I wish it wasn't so far. Also, I'm vegetarian.

And I have no idea why you wouldn't ride MARTA to go downtown.

I think still have our old Svea somewhere. The sound and the pleasure of using it are still with me.

Me! Me! Me! Look at me! I'm so important driving down the road!

I think we split off from any other land masses long before large land mammals got anywhere close. Large extinct penguin and sea reptile fossils have been found. The only mammal fossils would be early seals, whales, porpoises, sealions and bats.
The painted elephant sculpture is one of about 40 or 50 dotted around Christchurch and the surrounding towns. Companies sponsored an artist to decorate them. They will be in place for a couple of months and then they will be auctioned to raise money for a charitable trust that helps people who've suffered a serious brain injury. Previously a similar thing was done with painted penguins and painted giraffes, though I can't remember what charities those ones were for.

Same idea.

Man, I forgot, or wasn't paying attention at the time, that one of the reasons the bears disappeared is because people were protesting the 9/11 bear.

People are dumb.

Tip: Get an email that isn't reliant on your boss or your other boss.

Stava now knows how old I am though. It probably thought I was 96 based on my stats. Its disappointment is palpable.

I dont believe Mamoths survived weather wholly or partially. I could be wrong.

I like cheese cake. But am not a fan of pie. I thinknits a texture thing. I'm ok with the individual parts of pie, filling and crust. But combined...no bueno. Yeah, I know.
