Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

we’re also in the process of buying a new place and at least good bike parking and charging wouldn’t be a criteria anymore.

That’s very sad, but I’d hold off on the fire sale for a while.

Got the munchkin bike back from the shop. The bike was free but was used and abused so had them do a once over. Amelia loves the bike but doesn’t have confidence. An amazon prime driver did an abrupt turn right in front of us and caused her to crash pretty bad. Now the rear brake is rubbing and I can’t get it to stop. He came by an asked if we were okay, I wanted to give him a piece of my mind.

Simon got to go outside and walk around for the first time today. His little head couldn’t handle it. Put him up in the play ground with the steering wheel and he was up there for 10 mins driving.

I’m not going to put the garmin rally pedals on the checkpoint anymore. Which sucks, in a sense. I like using that bike for solid z2 work and without the power meter i’ll only use it for recovery rides. I’m worried about ruining the crank arms by constantly swapping pedals between the madone and the checkpoint. I’ve already dont it more than I am comfortable with, and I am reading online that it can ruin the crank arms.

I put the MTB pedals back on the checkpoint to ride with Amelia. The left one clicked in fine but I still can’t get the right one to clip in. I don’t get it.

I don't know. I don't seem to have an issue with adding muscle mass - not yet anyway. I DO have an issue subtracting fat.

Mannnn! 60 degrees out there. But windy as frig too. Glad I rode yesterday. I want to Ride F.B.B. again next. Test out the Reynolds rear wheel after the respoke and new freehub. I'll save Blue for a bit yet, I want to play with the cockpit fit a little and retape the bars. I scored a fsa os99 forged stem for him (106 grams!) Cheap! Couple grams off will help. I think it's the wheels that are making him chunky.

Chatting with my stepdaughter a few minutes ago; she told me I was in fact a dad, and a good enough one. So I guess what I’m talking about is being the breadwinner dad. I was never that. I was a damn good househusband. Whew! Good to get that cleared up. But I was part time. Her dad lived and worked in the Bahamas, and she spent all her vacations with him. The first time I walked into their house, as Mom’s boyfriend, she showed me a picture of her dad and made certain I understood where I stood in that regard.

Well that sucks. I'd be thinking about trike parking instead of bike parking. I don't know anything about this charging thing you're talking about

How often do you swap them? I used to do it all of the time and never had an issue. Just have to be sure not to cross thread. But the easy solution if to get two sets

Wife and I went to a pottery studio last night for a Valentine’s Day class/event they were putting on. I’ve never thrown pottery before- I’m not very good. We did get to have some wine, then went to dinner after at what was once our favorite tapas place in downtown Saratoga. The quality of food really went downhill and was disappointing. Company was great though!

VO2 Max is back up to 60. Finally. It was 62-63 last year and dipped down to 56 when Simon was born.
