I am really liking the GT+Xtracycle! This is the first time riding a step through frame for any amount of time and I feel silly when I go to "throw" my leg over the top tube and realize I don't need to.

This is also my first experience with an Xtracycle. I had a longtail cargo bike, Sun Atlas, but really didn't care for it. The Xtracycle is much more enjoyable for me. I need to find some wider street tires, that I can afford, and I will be mostly done with the setup, for now.

I just got this one a few weeks ago, & started working on it. I was surprised that the rotten tires still held air & I was able to ride it ! 1957 Ross Cycletruck , or Post Office bicycle.

GT Karakoram with FR longtail kit. Tires were swapped to Schwalbe Marathons for better load handling and smoother ride. I have a homemade adapter for a trail-a-bike that attaches to the flight deck and a (not shown) adapter for the rear frame to attach a towed bike. Disk brake conversion is in the works.

WOW, NOW THAT IS COOL!

I would just LOVE to find something like this on the used market and restore it to a working vehicle.

Have fun! What are plans? Please post pics here.

Right now, I have done little to it, but ride it a little. Surprised that everything still works. It was stored inside & I think it came from Crystal River, Fl. area. I made a sign blank for it & gave it a bath. Some people are wanting to buy parts from it, but I don't want to do that. I may keep it & leave as is, or sell it. Just unsure.

Well the GT just wasn't working for me (couldn't reasonably get the handlebars high enough), so I switched the Xtracycle over to a Specialized Hardrock. Liking it much better, and my matching front tire comes in tomorrow.

Not really.... the stem on the GT in the first pic was actually damaged, so I would have had to buy the 1 1/8 quill extender+1 1/8 quill stem or the quill stem extender+ 1 1/8 quill to threadless adapter, and then used a threadless stem I already have. Either way, I think it would have just been somewhat of a "kludge" that i would never fully like or trust.

The Hardrock is just going to work out better.

Haven`t posted photos of my Mundo in a while. It got a bit of a makeover on it`s 6th birthday in November, with a Nitto Bosco handlebar, new brakes, shifter and transmission.

I think the only thing remaining from the way the bike was originally set up is the seatpost.

My utility bike is about to get electrified in the next few months with a Bafang BBS02 750W mid-drive PAS system. To prepare for it, I swapped the 1.5" tires out for Schwalbe Big Apple 26x2.15" tires, and added SKS 65mm fenders, the biggest ones they make. I love how it came out. Can't wait to install the e-assist system!

My family's new christiania model light arrived today! We have a Bullitt already, but my wife refuses to ride it and has already fallen in love with the simplicity and looks of the CB.

Saw this Cargo Trike today, in Locust Valley, on Long Island. The price tag says $249.99 , I hope it finds a good home. I already have three or four cargo bikes, I can't find room in the stable:

My current utility bike. This configuration is for longer trips where I plan on being out with the dog for the day. Panniers carry extra food, water, clean t-shirt, dog supplies, locks, first aid, etc. I use this bike for pretty much everything from shopping to travel, light touring, hauling the dog to our favorite parks and so on.

Saving money for either a Yuba Mundo, Boda Boda, or maybe a Big Dummy.

For cheap but useful tires, we use the Performance Cycle Gothom 26x1.75 street tires. I've gotten them as cheap as $12.00 each, decent life and a hard rubber center so there good at flat protection, we do use STANS flat protection fluid in our's to make them even mort flat resistant. FYI.
