Co-op price list
Hello All,
Was wondering if any of you living near a co-op (and frequent it enough so that that this request is not inconvenient) might have one that has a standard price list for crappy parts. For those of us in areas that 1) do not have coops, and 2) do not have people constantly selling crappy bike parts, it is difficult to approximate costs (especially for clunker challenges) but also for other reasons.
Thanks in advance for anyone who checks...most of my parts have come in big lots from ebay, or locally, or on here. So individual pieces are difficult to estimate.

I was going to stop by the place I frequently haunt some time this week so I’ll snap a pic. Sometimes they charge a few $$ more for better stuff but it will give you a benchmark.

Prices have gone up at the local nonprofit, $48 for a wheelset, $18 front, $30 rear. $18 cranks, and parts are about $6. These are the bone bottom prices, they slide up. I recently picked up black 7200 Dura Ace hubset at $40. The older Campy stuff is going about $12~ each. Used leather saddles are $80 max, but I think that price will come down they are getting a stock pile of them.
I think for the less common stuff they run about 1/3-1/2 or what goes on eBay.

Dawg,
Check out the prices Sammie posts for Old Spokes Home on e-bay. They prices are a bit high, but you can get a rough idea of the individual items there. Smiles, MH

I am more looking at what bone bottom pricing is (clunker (maybe recent Chinese-made parts) pricing). Specifically
Crappy but newish pedals with toe clips and straps (I am thinking 8.00)
Bullhorn bars (crappy)
Modern crappy seatposts
Threadless stems and extender thingies (decently crappy)
Crappy flat bar levers

I am coming up with about $26-28 total when figuring that they all came with larger lots as throw ins... (as a per item cost they would be like $3 or less each).

Portland is pricier. I'm used to a $10-$20 price range for most stuff. On Monday I bought a Nitto stem for $12, a set of Tektro levers for $10, and a pair of Gatorskins with the nibs still intact, one folding, one wire, for $20 a piece. Took me a few visits to find the levers, but the rest of it was there on the day I needed it.

Actually, @JacobLee those items are actually nice...
My batch are Changstar, VP, and other funnily named Amazon goods...think SETNICE Seatpost, NOBREAKER stem, TOROSUN bars...and the "lightly used" Kenda tires I got for $14.25 for the pair.

Nearest I can tell, the closest co-ops to me are in Savannah, Charlotte and Greenville-Asheville area. 2.15 hours, 2.45 hours and 3.30 hours.

At our co-op the stuff you list at the no-name brand quality level would be $3-8 each, possibly less or possibly more, depending upon the need/ability to pay and attitude of the buyer.
Nicer bits (nitto, good shimano or suntour, the rare campy) we usually price about 70% of eBay or less -- again, depends a lot upon the buyer. We had a persistent flipper who lied constantly about how the parts were for him not for flipping (lots of evidence on FB, etc. that was not true) -- he started getting quotes of 1.5X+ of eBay -- eventually he stopped coming in -- FWIW we don't mind flippers, just like honesty and that they do not try to seriously lowball us -- come on!
With most of the lower-end parts we're getting bikes back on the road -- and to do so cheaply is the goal -- most of our clientele cannot afford $$, and they're everyday cyclists -- so we trade volunteer time and lower prices as needed to get them back in the saddle.
We don't see a lot of high end stuff come through our co-op.

For Clunker Challenge, go to E-bay and look at your item or close enough "Sold" listings. From the 'rules': " If you can't remember, use the fair market value of the item."

we have one. I will tale a picture next time I am there. The best part is most of the people there have no sense of value for anything made before 1996.

I was going to start a separate thread (no pics, didn’t seem appropriate at the time) but while I was waiting to pay for my crappy little parts a guy brought in a stunning purple Guerciotti, a Klein Pinnacle and an Oxford(?). All were full Campy groupsets and he was donating them all. There was at least $2500 worth of machinery. I would have made an on the spot offer for the Guerciotti but it was too big for me. (62cm) The co-op should do VERY well with those.

They always seem to be closed when I come to town, but I scored a Super Record rear derailleur in the box for cheap. I tried telling him he could get more online than the asking price, but I still have it and waiting for the right project. I bought several shirts to help spend some money there, along with a few other bits.
FWIW, the RD looked like it was mounted, but barely used, if at all.
