I've decided im going to go the handlebar tape route for my new bar ends. Regular grips would be nice, but i love the feel of my gf's road bike handle bars. I hope alpha doesn't mind me copying his bike too much . hopefully i have some pics to post later this week.

EDIT: Nevermind looks like alpha's k2 is going for bigger an better things . Its less copying now and more like following in his footsteps.
To be honest with you they got a little over my head on the drop bar thing, I was just following along on norowensby conversion, how fast, and inexpensive he did it, plus how nice it turned out. I started out with just short trips to the store when I lived in town, then got a little discouraged when I moved out in the country. Missed having a destination point, so I just started riding into town 6 miles one way to the closest store, shop and ride back. ( 12 miles ) then pick something father and so on. I've been on LOTS of all day trips, but most of the time was on trails etc.. and never cared about miles anyway. The only thing I might have a chance at holding the record on the Hybrid forum for is buying and selling the most bikes ! (LOL) I have had as many as 11 before, and as few as 1, right now have 4. But just want to keep the Cannondale M300 and the new Schwinn Varsity, want to try and improve my long distance road riding also. Richard

Once I was off on a 30 mile road ride, and thought that was far, ran into a guy on a road bike at a store and asked him how far he was going ? He looked down at his speedometer and said I'm at like 97 miles right now but he was a little lost, (back county roads), told me where he lived and I new it was around 30 more to his house. ( Laugh ) He didn't seem to care. : )
I really have no idea how slow I'd be on flat roads as I've yet to find any, haha.

I never really thought I lived in a hilly area until I started riding, now I can't find a flat road to save my life.

Here's my route from yesterday:

mapmyfitness.com -- I did this one manually bc I didn't find the site until after my ride, but they also have an app that will work with your phone's GPS to automatically map your route while you ride. I am going to try that with my next ride.

Yeah... It was free for Android as well... Unfortunately, my HTC-Inspire's GPS leaves a lot to be desired, especially when comparing it to the iPhone's. We'll see how it does with this soon enough... not today though, going floor shopping after work and still no headlight on the bike.

How is this for a Hybrid. A hybrid between a Dahon folding bike, Harley Davidson tires, OCC Stingray frame parts and a water ski rack thrown in.
You can see the entire build diary on Rat Rod Bikes here
https://www.ratrodbikes.com/forum/vie...p?f=21&t=44315

Here is the frame with no tires.

And with tires

Here is a video of me riding Fugsley (my monster folding beach bike).

Yep. As my riding style has changed, I have changed my K2 along the way. It's becoming an aggressive road hybrid with a MTB drivetrain.

My hybrid is less and less a hybrid every time I do something to it. Tonight I will be upgrading the Crappy v-brakes to TRP Euro X cantilever brakes and changing the barcon shifters to my Sora shifters for now. (Until it receives the upgrade to 105 stuff) Next picture should include, new tires, shifters, brakes, wrap.

My 2 Hybrids

I am six foot four and it has always been a chore to find a bike that is comfortable for me. I went looking for my first bike in over 25 years and found the Specialized Crossroads in XL. This bike is my daily rider and was a good choice for me to get back into the hobby. I ride on Sundays with a group that rides cruisers and vintage bikes. I searched for a bike to ride with the group and came up with a 1980 SCHWINN World Tourist in a 25'' frame. At 30 to 40 years newer than most bikes in the group it is still a good fit with the group and me.

^^ Nice! The streets melted enough for you? Here in metro Denver, the main streets (Monaco, Hampden, Colorado Blvd, etc..) get plowed, but the side streets and MUPs are HORRIBLE.

Me too. Unfortunately I can't find all of my brake/shifter cables I thought I had been hording. I will have to buy a couple sets tomorrow to finish off the job. Then once it's finished, the only thing allowing me to post the bike in here will be the cantilever brakes and cross crank setup.

There's still a lot of "ice" patches on the roads, and the "trails are a mess" but there was enought melt to get to the LBS and back ok. Looks like you all got "hammered" a lot more than the Springs! We really lucked out today, most of the front range got snow but we only had a slight trace here, south of the extreeme northend of town!

This is how it started. With just accessories added, no upgrades. It has come a long way. Hopefully I can get around to those TRP brakes and the Sora Shifter tonight... Almost done with the allez rival upgrade.
