I want this bikeVolpe | Bianchi USA and as soon as I get under 200 lbs, I'm going to get it if it still comes in that color. Well, at least I have plenty of time to save up :-).

^^ That in custom titanium with full xtr and $1000 hubs. Latest and greatest Garmin and the best generator hub I can get. Only cost around $6000 to build. My wife will surely go for it. Until then I guess I ride the steel version.

Looks nice.
Mine is a Domane 4.3 and if I continue to ride like I have been and lose 35 more lbs it will be in my garage. Should be my next years ride.

When I'll get them? Probably not until I'm a strong enough rider to justify dropping that kind of cash. That's a deliberately vague goal because when I bought my cross bike I realised it had exactly the same problem as my mountain bike. It needed a better rider. I don't want to be the guy on a bike costing the fat end of five figures who pants and puffs as people overtake him.

I lost 30kg two years back and it hasn't come back. But... I really can't justify a bike costing that much when I have two small kids to take care of. Priorities and all. Have to settle for $1000 worth of bike and older tech.

What?: A custom geometry Parlee Z zero.
When?: When I have that sort of excess cash sitting around in my checking account (not soon).

When I get under 200 lbs, I will probably look to get something made of carbon fiber.

Just started on this journey from 260. Been seesawing back and forth when I go super hard/hard diet etc. and end up going back to a higher weight after being low, so I'm taking it slow.
I would love to be 199 (lol) by next year February. If I am, a specialized allez sport will be mine . Should say if, it's more of "when" I am.

Honestly, right now I'm entertaining the idea of swapping my current commuter (2012 Kona Jake) for a Fyxation Quiver (hey MRT, it's a steel bike! LOL).
Reason being, my Jake is a triple, but I rarely shift out of the middle ring, and the Quiver is a 1X10.
I will, however, wait until I run a season of CX (ideally this fall) and see my gear usage in that.
As far as my roadie ... if I were to hit 225 which is my ultimate goal, I'd probably replace it with another Trek, maybe a Madone, or a Domane.

I am with Pamestique on this one. After my last few purchases, I have all the bikes I need for now. That being said, if I happen to see a really good bargain......well lets just say I may have to make an impulse purchase.

If you like that bike and you can afford it now, get it, ride it, enjoy it and have a good time.
I now have all the bikes that I could possibly need...but there is a Colnago C60 out there with my name on it.

I really like the look of the S-Works road range (Roubaix rather than Tarmac), and also like the high end Trek Domane series.

I'd have a pair of cervelos and a steel audax/sportive/randonneur/relaxed geometry light touring bike sorta thing.

I did think about one idea I'd had a while back for what I'd loosely call a mongrel bike. I was thinking of something like a very light carbon fibre full-suspension mountain bike (maybe even a custom frame for a different geometry) with drop bars. The idea is to have hydraulic brakes, the chance to ride in a more streamlined position but also have suspension you can activate from the bars so that if you're going over bumpy terrain you don't end up rattling your teeth or crushing delicate anatomical components. Then with two wheelsets you could theoretically have something that would chew up the roads fairly fast, or something ideal for riding trails. OK, the mongrel might not be any good for really technical stuff but I don't ride that kind of trail anyway.

No. Especially if they're only in your head instead of in your house. In your head there's probably room for a whole fleet :-)
