Heinz Stücke - a bike is like a passport

Documentary available on Netflix (The Man Who Wanted to See It All). Stücke travelled non-stop for more than 50 years. The documentary is more a reflection on a way of life rather than the narrative of an "epic" trek.

I wanted to share because of this bit that I paraphrase "In Bagdad no one would talk to me if I were on foot, but a bike is like a passport - people ask questions and want to engage with me."

Whilst I never met him I did see him near to where I live about 25 years ago. We passed each other whilst going in opposite directions and I seem to remember that, at about this time, his bike was stolen but quickly returned to him. I hadn't realised he is 82.
