Bowlnago to Colnecko
For those whose souls were torn out by the Bowlnago, it is passing into its fourth iteration. This is in rider mode and will do until such time as it gets a restoration to its 1977 Colnago Super roots.
This was built as a rider upgrade with some of the gut wrenching details remaining. Unfortunately my plan for all Ultegra was dashed when I realized I had no Italian thread octalink for a double. I also ran into some clicking issues with the Ultegra brifters so those will wait. Lastly, it is set for nutted brakes so the Modolo Speedys has to continue its duty.
Had a Salsa stem and Masi bars that seemed to offer the right reach and elevation so those are the cludge.
The wheels I had sitting waiting for the right project...and here they are. I was able to get 28s on there once I deflated to install the rear. Could probably squeez 30s but I don’t think there is much difference. Had a spoke hole untaped so first tube went pssshhht. Dang it.
Anyhow, as it sits before the next metamorphosis.
Personally, I think it is cool.
Ultegra and Xenon drivetrain.

Note the Gecko which yields the new name.
Purple rims go nicely with the Jokermobile palette...

If that's a KMC chain, it might come from Taiwan.
Spokes and rims used to get made in various parts of Europe.
Gotta find something French or Swiss on there!
