Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

That is of course the point.

Had a fun group ride today. There were easily 50-60 riders but all well behaved.

It happens all the time for those who want to see a 1:00 east coast game.

Well on the west coast, sure. I always watched those, but 11am is later than I want the games to start. In Austin the London game days were perfect.

Also, need a better split between the early and late game counts.

Yes it is possible.

Edit: If I rode your Domane it would be faster than your emonda.

It certainly should be. Domane, as I recall, is rather upright and chunky. Is the fit the same on both? Not just "both fit you" but same body position.

Well, it's one reason. Also better clearance for trucks, and more modular. In TX they put an actual horizontal member above the lights to add lift in wind, and I think it has a label on it so rescue heli's can tell where they are without GPS. They put all sorts of interesting things on the poles around here. It's quite the rabbit hole.

There's a saying though: "The good thing about standards is that there are so many to choose from!". There is a US standard for lights, and it allows both configurations, just to back that quote up.

Of course now I watch no tv at all, of any stripe, at any time if the day. Can I say bliss twice in the same morning?

My Paramount just naturally cuts through head, and crosswinds better. No idea why, but it does, and it is just a hair faster than the others.
I see I quoted the wrong post again. I was back-scrolling, from the bottom. Maybe Mojo will see it in passing.

I don't get it. Like, I'm for sure low on overall training load and sleep (both quantity and quality), but somehow I'm still hitting objectively solid power numbers on the trainer, for me at least. I think it's bc I have this bank of fitness and no fatigue. We'll see how long this lasts.

Nah, crashing is slow.

But, you are half my age which means I'm 100% older. Therefore, you should be 100% faster than I am regardless of bike. 😜

Mrs datlas is a culture vulture so we are taking the Expo line to The Broad, a museum of contemporary art in downtown LA. Then some Udon at a place in Little Tokyo she really likes. Meeting daughter (and possibly her friends) there.
