Coaster brake to single speed conversion
I want to convert the coaster brake on my Walmart Huffy cruiser to single speed. There are some instructions on youtube on how to disable the brake mechanism (coaster to freewheel). But I wonder if it's possible to do a clean single speed conversion (i.e. using a flip flop hub). The wheel/tire size is 26x2.35", 36 holes on the hub. Not sure what the hub's width is (110mm?). Thanks.

2 ways; 1, buy a new wheel that fits that is the same size as the existing rear wheel, 2, learn how to build a wheel with a new hub and spokes.

Also you will have to add a new rear brake which includes new lever, cable, housing, and brake caliper.

I was actually thinking about doing no. 2. That's why I asked about the hub width size. I don't see that many options for hub size besides the 120mm. So, I guess, with 5-10mm width difference, I need to get new spokes too?

Why don't you like using a coaster brake? Anyway, on my Bendix coaster I am thinking I could just take a few key parts out of it like the brake shoes and the thingy that the worm-gear moves to engage them to make it freewheel, but it is the only brake I got on my bike....;

It is a single speed already do you you mean fixed
no way to get to a flip flop hub without a lot of effort expense, cheapest way is to get a new wheel
if you mean single speed, what will you do for brakes?
it is a walmart huffy, just ride it, save your money and for a fixed/single speed, find a frame or bike used and buy a set of wheels or a rear wheel

...if your Walmart Huffy is a steel frame, it's pretty easy to respace the rear dropouts to accommodate a 120mm rear hub. If it's aluminum, then you're stuck with current spacing
But there are so many more issues with doing this conversion, I wouldn't know where to begin an explanation.
Cheap fixed gear bikes with 120mm flip flop hubs have been made in Asia, and sold in the USA for many years now. As stated prior by someone else, you're much better off just looking for one of those.
