Looking to start mountain biking in Santa Monica
Henry here. Grew up mountain biking in CT, moved to NYC and biked to commute and for exercise, but now I'm in LA and hoping to get an above average full-suspension build to start hitting some XC tracks in the mountains again. I'm thinking a low-ish tier Giant or Specialized for ~$3k since both stores are really close to me if I have any problems. Let me know if you have any suggestions for an all-mountain XC-leaning bike that won't break the bank (relatively speaking since $3k always cracks the bank for most). I'd stretch to $4k it it was an amazing deal on a higher tier build. Happy riding, gang!
Current bikes:
Eddy Merck 90s Team Motorolla bike with full 90s c-record groupset including wheels and hubs.
Eddy Merck Cora Extra with cold-set rear triangle so I can run it singlespeed.
Raleigh Super Course Mk II my dad gave me all original and in lovely shape.
