Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

+1. In 2001 I finally achieved my goal of owning a Colnago. I was disappointed at how "thin" the paint job was.

something like that - just stacked it- hence broken mech, hanger, saddle, post, shifters, left pedal and ripped bartape

I think I'm done. Saddle needs to tilt up I'm finding the downward tilt to be a bit extreme right now. Satisfied with the 90mm stem. Bike weighs 16.1 pounds as it sits with the upgraded carbon wheels and carbon bars, and carbon braze on mount.

The photos of the depressing character, crashed bike and Litespeed saddle angle are all extremely disturbing.

I was hoping you would take the hint that the bike is not properly set for the photo op. The chain is in the small ring. The bars are at a terrible angle. Rather high stem stack- I'm not a fan of egg beaters on a road bike and the wheels are not set with the valves at 6 o'clock. Busy background. Otherwise, it looks like a nice ti bike.
Cheers

I concur with all of this. I will add to it by saying, while I like the color combination, I think newer black Ultegra would look better with the wheels, cockpit, and seat and post being black. I've also loved the Litespeed curved seat stays!

reach on next size up is too long - as I said saddle in first pic is a touch high as I’d just switched posts to get it all matchy matchy

You are preaching to the choir. I agree. I'm pretty much in the SF Bay Area and live on a steep incline. High stem stack has to do more with riding style and getting back into it(I don't like the looks of slammed stems personally, but you are right it is s 40mm spacer between the stem, and an additional 10mm spacer on top, a bit high but fits my riding style). The bars are at a bad angle I wish I left them more downward where they were. The saddle is so fubar at this point I don't understand why I submitted this photo without adjusting that first. I'm literally sliding off the saddle when riding. But, no love for the matching Ti rails?

Ya the photo / setting is terrible, but I thought the iphone 8 did ok in low light.

I agree with the crankset. A black ultegra crankset would really make it look better. I have been contemplating a ultegra crankset with the stages power meter...but I don't know if I'm willing to invest in one yet. Maybe I'm holding off on that as a possible reward for getting in better shape. But last photo submission in better light. Took it on my ride this morning. Oh ya was on a climb so no big ring . Oh what do you think about that rear tire spacing. I had to use a carbon braze on mount because the original shimano mount would rub against gp 4000 25mm tires.

I agree. The stem looks a bit too aggressive for me, but I'm not riding it.

What's up with the saddles in this thread recently?

They are nice Fabric saddles too.

Tilted down at a 45° angle, shoved all the way forward...

Your bikes are not sized or fitted correctly if your saddles are like this, and the look is totally not hot.

They make one but it’s $450. I’ve been watching eBay like a hawk.

Mine’s sized perfectly and fitted perfectly. The seatpost is setback and the bike would look better with the zero offset post. I’m going to buy one but patiently waiting on a deal so I don’t have to pay $450.

If you think a 57.5 is too big for someone 6’3” I’m gonna have to disagree. The stem is 120mm.
