Too much rain for me this morning - that makes my stats 8 of 10 commutes by bike for March, and 38 of 49 for the year.
But I brought in FOUR cycle computers to change the time to PDT - three (different model) Cateyes and a Flight Deck... the time changing method is different on each one and on at least one, if you screw it up you reset your odometer and wheel settings.

Well, I've been riding all winter but this is the first time I've ridden three work days in a row. It's suppose to warm up this week, maybe 50F. I don't know it was 12F when I left the house and there is still snow everywhere.

Great ride in the city today, was on one of our bike blvds the whole way (basically a street with minimal auto traffic) and put a nice cruising speed. The second I got back into the suburbs were I live I almost got his by a stupid lady only looking the direction of her one way and she also pulled out way past the bike lane. I know I startled her when she slammed on her brakes and missed me, I also gave her a death stare.
Lots of snow still everywhere here in MN, bunny hopped a lot of bike path transitions that snow was plowed into.
8mph wind and 26 degrees F.

Good ride in, with temps around 32 F ( 0 C). Rain coming in today, but it is supposed to be warmer weather behind it, after it blows out of here tomorrow.

I had a pleasant ride in today, temps at or near freezing, no wind.

2nd commute of the year. It was 22 degrees at 7:30 this a.m. Got to work and noticed I forgot my towel and soap. Had to wash with shampo and use my wool base layer to dry off.

It's been a stress filled couple of days. I've been tired from putting in all the miles for the last two weeks, so I cheat in the morning and take the short route. I'll have to get out of that habit. In to bed at 10 tonight! Nice ride, a little wet and decent speed.

born again cyclist
it sure was fun riding home from work in daylight yesterday. chicago has the craptacular position of being on the EXTREME eastern edge of a time zone, so i never have daylight rides home from work until daylight savings time kicks in. and again because of the extreme eastern edge of the time zone location, i've still got plenty of daylight for my morning rides in, so no more dark sky bike commuting until next novemeber, yee-haw!

Nice and chilly, I think the new tires are a little slower than the old ones (but they do fave less holes).

Bit of rain, but warm and soft, so all in all it was quite pleasant.

Two days in a row I bike home much later than usual...faced a strong headwind the whole way home tonight but was not terribly cold, mid 40s I'd say.
Just a sprinkle of rain started up as I was a few blocks from home.

There and back again. On my Madsen. 33 miles. 75 pound bike. 40 Pounds of kid in the back on the way home. Holy hills. And the worst 5mph headwind ever.
The 16+ mile ride in only took 80 minutes, a 20 or 25 minute premium over my road bikes.

Warming up, 42 F ( 6 C). A good ride in, and saw my normal walker in the dark. Coming through the same area, I caught a whiff of cigarette smoke, but did not see anyone, but there are lots of unseen places in the dark. The birds are back, even with the time change. Only one
or two come out, but it is a refreshing sound after months of not hearing them.

Lovely ride in, no wind, quiet, I am shedding layers. Wish I could convince my running brethren that bike lanes are for bikes...as their numbers increase, so to does the number of people out in the lane.
It's gonna take all my willpower to keep to my pledge of commutting a full year before switching out from my old Jamis to a new bike.

First ride to work in a couple weeks. Mellow temps in the low 50s and pretty quick roads. I beat the train at the crossing by a minute or two; as I rode away from the crossing the bells started to go off and the gates came down. (The train was a longish freighter that would have taken at least 4 or 5 minutes.) The ride home will be broken up by a softball game about halfway.... hopefully I'm not too sore to ride the rest of the way. Probably won't be home until 9 tonight.
Encountered a few pairs of cyclists this morning; they all had decent lighting and hi-viz jackets. I passed one couple and dinged my bell to let them know I was coming through and the woman said, "I need to get one of those!"

Nice -1C ride with a 20km/h headwind. I was a bit sleepy when I left the house and forgot to put on my light fleece shirt. I'm glad I didn't because even with just two layers I was sweating a lot by the time I got to school. If it wasn't for the wind I could have rode in just my baselayer shirt.
There is a lot of sand and dirt in the parking lane on a few of the roads I ride on. I'm not sure slicks will be a good idea for a while even once the snow is gone.
The MUP on Monday's ride home was getting bad. The snow is getting very soft and can't support my weight in many places. It was a very slow / squirmy ride home. The snow on the streets have been melting fast so today will either be much better or much worse. I may need to ride on the streets instead.
