11.2 miles with plenty of forest preserves along the way to distract me and add to the distance!

11.5 miles each way, hilly course; going to work, 12' into my ride I have to negotiate an 8% 109 yards uphill, BUT as of next monday (new place) it'll be only 6 miles each way w/o the hills, I'm gonna miss them.

Hi, I ride 7.5 miles the short way through town or 12 miles along country roads and the interstate. Try to commute at least three times per week, but must miss some weeks due to job requirements. I do not commute in late autumn, winter, or early spring due to lack of day light and narrow shoulders on country roads. During those periods I go to spin classes and ride on weekends.

1.5 miles each way, 3.0 miles round trip. Yes, living close to work will spoil you. Any time I have to drive my Jeep in even modest traffic, I get irritated. I don't know how the rest of you do it.

I wish I had a little longer commute sometimes though.

I ride about 2.3 miles each way to work if I go straight to and from... Normally I leave an extra hour early and ride around town to get food and such...

It's about 0.00001 miles from my bed to my desk (work from home), but I try to get out every day. I've got a few coffee shops with hotspots I can work from, or there's a library with a hotspot, and I have meetings several times per week. I usually don't go any farther than 5 or 6 miles in one direction, but I get around. The only days I don't leave are when I have no meetings and I'm bogged down with work and falling behind - then I'm more productive if I just wake up and sit down at my desk all day long.

2.24 miles

I used to live 5 miles from work, which was a nice distance, but now my 2 mile commute hardly seems worth the effort. In the winter I spend more time getting ready to ride than I do riding, which often leads me to want to drive instead (especially since I leave for work at 5:15am)...argh!

11 years nel Italia, 37.7km roundtrip, 2 days of 5. (motocicleta 3 days of 5)

2 years in France, 45.2km roundtrip, 3 days of 5. (metró 2 days of 5)

2 month in Atlanta, USA, 51.5km... miles = 32, 5 days of 5. (Peachtree St. in rush... wah-hooooo!)

2 1/2 yrs in Tunisia, 72.2km roundtrip, 5 days of 5. (here has not any alternatives.)

The more I become older, easier it makes to go long distance. So, young people- something to look forward to!

I travel about the same distance to and from work.... I generally just try to leave early and ride around before I have to go in so I can get some extra miles in. Luckily our weather isn't THAT cold that I have to spend 30 minutes bundling up before I go in.

Hrmmm...I'm about to go babysit some kids eight miles away from me, and 1150 feet above me. Should be fun.

A mere 9.5km round trip. But I sometimes extend the (uphill) ride back just for the hell of it. But I've stopped for the season. That distance just isn't far enough to warm up during a Toronto winter.

12 - 20km round trip depends on how I feel. I leave home at 6:15am & the combination of darkness & cold temps (below freezing) makes me wonder how long I will keep this up (probably when the snow sticks to the ground & doesn't melt away).
My car sits in the driveway from the beginning of March to the end of November every year. It looks more & more tempting as the days go by....

When I started to commute 30 years ago it was 10 miles each way (16 km). After moving it was 15 miles (24 km) and I quit commuting not because of the distance but because of freeway ramps. I was nearly hit 2 out of the 3 times that I commuted. It scared me. The next two jobs were within walking distance. Then it was a 6 mile commute and today it is 5 miles to work and 5.5 miles home (8 km 9km).

4 miles each way, which means I can add a trip home & back at lunchtime. There are a couple of bike trails that are close enough to an alternate route home that I take them in good weather. When I do that the commute becomes 6 to 7 miles or more if its a really nice day. Don

12 miles each way. In winter, I ride to work in the morning but I go home on the metro because it's dark. I don't do dark.

I commute 6.5 km each way. That's around 3.9 miles for the metric challenged.
