'84 or '85 Specialized Sequoia Serial Number
Hi folks,
First post so I can't submit photos? Or links?! Bummer.
My Specialized has a serial number of (from what I can tell) M4FG0266
Based on the pinned post about serial numbers in this Classic and Vintage forum, I think that would make it an '84?
Now I just need to make 9 more posts before I can upload pictures?! Man that's a lot of pictureless posts! Hope I can hack that somehow haha.
Thanks!

You need 5 posts X 2 days for 10 for pics, no junk posts.
In the meantime you can add them to the gallery on your home page and they may get moved here, security measure that serves us very well.
We have had plenty of major discussion on these recently, Google search will get you there best but S/N is not very good for much.
We do have an authority on them here so we have a lot of good info.

Thank you very much! I appreciate the details and suggestions. And yes, I can imagine the security measures help filter a lot of noise.
I'll add photos to my home page!
I had originally drafted a larger and more detailed post with links to other discussions, notes about components, etc, but walked back to a simpler serial number/year ID request post when I saw that I couldn't add pictures or links. So I just wanted to get the ball rolling.
Thanks again!
