Not a bike, or even vintage... But yeah, every bit as messed up as some of the bike ads. I would be embarrassed to try and sell these, for any price.,,,,BD

Gee, it seems that scrap metal for $300 is a little out of line. Of course, I claim ignorance on prices for such things in perfect condition...

Teachable moment.

1) In California, Campagnolo wheelsets can be "liberated" in the name of crystal meth shake-n-bake supplies.

2) It's not cheap driving to twelve different pharmacies and six different auto parts stores, after all.

3) Subsequently, it makes little sense to loan one's bike to "a guy named Greg, in Concord" - particularly if the bike has top-shelf wheels.

4) Craigslist and social media are not substitutes for state and local police agencies.

5) Best solution - move to a different locale, with less crime and no drugs.

I am certainly glad this bike was restored, esp. the fork. Which appears to have been restored by the simple expedient of running the bike into a brick wall or two.

Given the fact that SS exhaust parts are INSANELY overpriced, especially if it's made to fit one car only, I am imagining the cost for these mufflers in uncrushed condition, is probably somewhere between 450 TO 2500 bucks. It looks like they have never been mounted, and possibly were backed over in a shop, while awaiting installation? Or possibly were installed, on a car that got rear ended. one of the tips is bent as well, so that may have been the case.,,,,BD

EDIT:

I was right on the money.. On sale, for $1,465.95...

Well if the bike was legit the half ass repaint and rebuild basicaly destroyed 2/3rds of the bikes value it would be worth more still in pieces.

Think they could at least take some pics that were in focus or without camera shake, know nothing about the bike so I'll ask $2500 sounds fair, pity about powder coating it and destroying 90% of its value

Note the edgy urban-type graffiti in the background, and the headache-inducing, punctuation-free sent-from-my-idevice text.

Maybe if the forks were bent, parts were mis-matched colors, and the rims were deep-v 700c types, he'd get about a hundred fifty - in Fishtown. Pristine examples of Rockhopper are going for under two Benjamins right now - and the value has been falling since Mike Sinyard decided to be a prick to Canadian veterans.

i agree it's over priced but fork looks fine and wheels look to be 26".. ? buying all that ano purple brand new would be expensive though. the frame is green with purple writing so it's not that mismatched..

Much hyperbole for an average mountain (sorry, not vintage) bike…

https://tampa.craigslist.org/pnl/bik/4266407285.html

SIIICCCKKK GT mountain bike for sale. - $400 (Largo)

Hey there bad ass. Ever feel like there is a caged animal inside of you?

Only one cure for that; getting a ****ing sick mountain bike! A 2012 GT mountain bike at that. This lady will get you to work like a full blown go hard, transport you and your shotgun through the zombie apocalypse, and give you a new platform while you're barreling down the sidewalk with the wind tearing at your clothes screaming "I AM ALIVE" all the way to your Yoga class.

It runs like corn through a Goose. Nothing wrong with it AT ALL. I can't tell you the actual miles on it, but I can say most of the 150.8584948 miles are on the sidewalk

I put new tires on her, because you can't deny a classy girl of some classy shoes. I gave her a new chain because she needed some ****ing jewelry.

Super comfy seat, gel handlebar grips, metal kick stand, you name it.

Why am I selling it? Because being alive rules. I'm too much of a bad ass for a bike like this. If I see a ramp I'm going to hit that mother****er at 300mph, back flip over I275.

$400 gets you this lady, some helmets, a maintenance receipts, a pump, extra tires, rain cover, a shop manual, tires full of PREMIUM MOTHER****IN HPA (NITROGEEENNN 60 PSI), some links to my favorite YouTube videos, a short story about robots, a cup of coffee with me, and any damn donut you want.

If you email me asking about being "firm" on the price I will tell you right now that I am NOT. $400 is only my starting price, you may want to pay me more after you see it in person. If you think you can email me and ask me to sell it for less you could just as well save me the effort and punch yourself in the balls. If you are from Africa and try to scam me do not waste my time because I will swim across the ocean and find you in your dirty hut and judo chop your neck with an ultimate punch right to the face.

not just rare but ......SUPER RARE

SUPER RARE 70'S MOTOBECANE MIRAGE!!! TOTAL ORIGINAL! - $260 (LAKEWOOD)

This is an early 70's Motobecane Mirage! Hardly used! Near mint condition! Everything is original, even the brake pads! 4 chips on the entire bike. Unbelievably clean and rare! These were a very special breed of bicycle made exclusively in France in roughly 1970-71. Even down to the hand painted gold trim. Some light cleaning and tune up and this bike will be just like new! Make me an offer!

That's what I was going to say -- that's about $5 worth of entertainment right there! And I don't think $400 is out of line, if as described, it's basically brand new condition, and probably retailed for $800-$1000 1 year ago when he originally bought it.

I took that as a reference to the African based scammers that always seem to answer ads like this with some crazy scheme, not anything racial.

Pretty standard CL stuff.
1) Bike was never 650$, except on some distant planet where inflation has gone batguano.
2) Rusting chain makes perfect condition claim suspect.

Very nice Fixie Thruster road bike for sale. Got other bike so don't need this one. In excellent conditions except one pedal have damage but not big deal, still ride smooth.

It is fixed but this bike can cruise too and have front brake.

Color: black/yellow/red. Eye catcher bike. Seat tube: 26in, top tube: 23in'. So I would say this is for 5'10-6'1 riders. Unless you want to change size of wheels or seat length.

$250 or make an offer, need to go as soon as possible.

Email for any questions

* translation: it may be a new year, but all that **** you've seen before is still flowing down that same open sewage pipe. Merde il pleut!!!!!
