Very few in my experience of GA and FL rallies; one or two triplets, but never a quad.

interesting not surprised considering triplets are quite rare. anything above is even rare by atleast 10 fold.

I was at a tandem rally in California in the late 90s, with my triple and two others. What fun, there was one kid on each triple all about the same age. It was the most I ever saw at one event.

At the Midwest tandem rally there's usually at least one triple -- I've seen a quad there from time to time, but never anything larger.

2 quads

I have 2 quads.
I took my first to the Midwest Tandem Rallys in West Des Moines Iowa 1981 and Coralville Iowa 1982, and Ragbrai 10 (1982) for one day. It is a 1 speed coaster brake bike.

My second quad I took to MTRs Des Moines Iowa 1992, and Rochester Minnesota 1994, and 10 years of Ragbrai (~5,000 miles). Custom build. Took it to a state time trial championships once. 25 miles in 53:30, good for second place overall. The winner was an incredible hammer.

We have seen two quints, 3 quads, and something like 5-7 triplets at one or two MTRs several years ago back when we were driving the pace both on the bikes and in the really long bike market. Many tandem rallies over a full decade were shared and enjoyed on quads and quints before turning the two girls loose on their own tandem in 2013 at ages 15 and 13. And as one observer noted, that had watched them grow up at all the rallies, "now they are out here kicking butt!" Yup! ...as they were in the lead group when at the lunch stop.

Courtney's story of us on a QUAD with pictures of the 2012 Middleton, WI (Madison area) is here:
https://www.precisiontandems.com/mtr12/mtr12.htm

And there was the awesome Amish country rally dubbed "Ride to a Slower Pace" in Shipshewana, IN in 2010 on a QUAD:

(There is a pic of a quintized quad from 2002 in that story)

...the 2005 MTR in Grand Rapids, Mi on a QUAD:

...2004 MTR Columbus, IN on a QUINT!

...2003 MTR Dayton, OH on a QUINT!

...2002 Southern Tandem Rally Bay St. Louis, MS on a QUADized triplet
https://www.precisiontandems.com/str02.htm

...2002 Southwest Tandem Rally, Waco, TX as I recall on a quadized triplet
https://www.precisiontandems.com/swtr02.htm

...and many many more.
