Maybe, its pretty bad, if the BB and HS aren't good, it was a poor deal at best.

Reach out to Justyne and go have a look, very cool, good shape, another one of Jim's personal bikes he built for himself.

$1400 ask, damn, no pot to pee in. Offer to do trade or partial for 82 Bianchi SL frame, no go. She says "I'll clean it up and put it up for sale in the next couple of weeks". I think it may not last that long if she really has other interest so I took off, sidelined it and flailed around for funding with no real luck.

Finally scrounged up about $400 and thought I might reach out and get her to let me put some kind of a deposit on it.

Then I get a text, the damn thing is on PDX CL for 2 hours at $1200, reach out and tell her I'm in, still without full funding. "It sold 2 minutes ago, sorry"

EF me, Guess I should have figured it out sooner, drug my feet a bit on account of the high ask but will be kicking myself for a long time.
luckily you have a few others..!

I was wondering how that shook out, it is good to know that it exists though! I saw Merz made a post on his FB page with the ad, and a person commented saying they bought it. Perhaps you could get in touch with them in case they ever decide to sell. I can see if I can get you in touch with that person. Shoot me an email on how you might like to be introduced

Tx, glad you pinged me on it, wish I hadn't screwed it up, I hate it when that happens.

I would like to have a conversation with him if he's in PDX but I'm not in a position to try and wrestle it away from him.

I'll probably reach out to Jim or Justyne if I decide to try and get a hold of him.

I already have 5 including the first one Jim built for himself which along with the price thing I let that trip me up.

That only happened because I sucked, momentary lapse of reason. That guy paid as much as I paid for my first two completes each. I was tapped, just couldn't wrap my head around that number, again, ef me.

I saw Jim's eFB, I can reach out but doubt the guy will sell anytime soon, let alone for ok $$$, he has big plans and is going to spend a lot more so....

And I don't blame him, I didn't flinch on the first two and would have gladly paid more.

Just what the heck is he talking about? The levers and brake calipers look like regular cable actuated items.

They're up to $150 each now. Good, because I was mightily tempted by that 950 at its starting price.

I was wondering the same thing! I see the flat bar levers near stem but the calipers dont match up to any hydraulics I am aware of. I was one of the original reps for Magura Brakes while with KHS and would say I am more familiar with Hydraulic brakes then the average bike person and those do not look like hydraulic brakes to me. I just reference checked the current Magura road lineup and still nothing looks like dual pivot road calipers!!!

I hate reading stories like this. I am sorry it didnt work out in your favor today. In my short time here I have been surprised to learn how hard it is to put a deal together to fruition. I have already had 3 or 4 bikes I wanted badly including the Orange team Motebecane, The Blue Team Koga Miyata bike, Blue Bob Jackson and several others fall thru my fingers and it still stings. I feel for you....

No worries man, I did it to myself, ignored my cardinal rule, BUY, BUY, BUY!!!!

DAMN THE TORPEDOS, ENGAGE, MAKE IT SO!!!!!

You have to go balls to the walls if you are`serious, do not hesitate or question yourself in the moment.

I have plenty others that I got because of this, many great deals, many one time bikes and many in between.

You have to trust yourself and your skill, once you screw up a couple of times and get the hang of it then you will know when to truly drop the hammer.
