WTB: Campagnolo Brake Levers and English Bottom Bracket 111mm

Hey All C&V friends

So I am doing a build and am short a few things out of my stash of parts.
  1. I have a couple Italian threaded Campy BB's but no BSA threaded ones. I'm going to be mounting this crankset: Campagnolo C-Record (1987-1994) so a 111mm according to velobase. I'm not against a either a cartridge or cup style. Found
  2. Next I need some brake levers, I have these brake calipers: Campagnolo 4061, Super Record (v2) If the levers have hoods, Gum or White would be great, but i can work with Black. I'm going to ride this build, so perfect isn't necessary, but I'm also going to be going up some hills and if the hoods are brittle and cracked, they're as good as gone. Found
As for models of parts.. I'm not super particular, but it's a 1987 bike, so roundabout there, It'd be great to match them to the parts going on the bike, but beggars can't be choosers. It'd be awesome to find someone that has both to cut down on the shipping expenses. I know I could hop on ebay now and buy some levers for 150+ or a BB for 60+ that roughly matches my spec and look pretty nice, but thought I'd try reaching out here first. Or maybe I have some parts you could use? happy to talk and figure it out

Hoping to share the whole build and greater project once it's underway later this summer.

Thanks for your time!

I've got a pair of Athena aero brake levers with black hoods. Like this but without the hole in the lever: https://velobase.com/ViewComponent.a...b-5b2733f377bf

Somewhere in the garage I should have the bottom bracket that was on your bike when I bought it. VeloBase says the Chorus crankset that was on there also needed 111, so it should meet your needs. A quick search of the garage didn't turn it up, but I'm pretty sure it's there somewhere. I found a 115 mm Campy bottom bracket. It might be that they used a longer spindle because of the wider seat tube. I'll check the threading on that one later today and let you know.

I assume an early version of Centaur or Veloce? 111 and BSA though.

Sounds like these would be time period correct which is a huge plus! and I can tell people the stem/seatpost/levers are OE.

I did consider using a different length spindle, especially since once it actually goes on either side we are only talking a few mm's. But decided I should try for 111 since that is supposedly the correct length..

Let me know if you do find the 111 BB, I'd definitely be interested. So far I think this is the most promising lead for me!

111 and BSA is the main thing I'm after, and good bearings, but I'm hoping that's a given, so this one is a contender. I don't have the tool for this type BB, but looks like it's relatively inexpensive.

Thanks for the offer regardless! I'm thinking Andy K might have the 1-2 punch that I'm looking for, but if the BB isn't to be found, I might go for it.

No worries. It wasn’t hard to find in the stashes. I hope Andy has both...always easier with one source. For what it’s worth...it is NOT a lightweight, but I might have an extra tool.

I also have a Later black Centaur version. Super smooth and light weight (not for sale). They can be found on the bay but are pricey (I got mine super cheap). No one bid! The shipping was higher than the cost of the BB...

Actually, these aren't the levers that were on the bike when I got it. They are period correct though and they look very similar except for the hoods.

I expected the bottom bracket to be in the same box as the crankset, but it wasn't. That means it's either under a pile of rubble in my garage (very likely) or I gave it to Community Cycling Center (possible). The 115 mm BB I mentioned had Italian-threaded cups so it must have been from a different bike. I'll be able to do a more thorough search this weekend if I don't stumble across it sooner.

Ha,I know I thought I had a 1.37x24 BB myself, and was kinda surprised to find only Italian threaded. All good, Thanks for checking for me!

I guess if someone else is reading this, I'm still open to hearing what you may have. I'm itching to get this one out on the road, but the weather isn't looking awesome just yet, but next weekend...

This is for the Serotta, King of the Mountain. or basically Colorado with cool paint/decals. The goal of the build isn't to make it super nice, since the frame has already it's own character markings, and I will be riding it. But I was hoping mid-late 80s and full Campy for a little more bling factor.

BB isn't quite as important to be period, since no one's gonna notice that unless I'm stopped.

I have these with good condtion white hoods if you want another option, but supposed to be optimised for Delta calipers:

Re: the "thun style" BB units, my advice is AVOID! I've had nothing but skinned knuckles and curse words for these, even with good quality "special tool"...stick with the
conventional" style Campy sealed BB units.
