Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Specialized does go overkill w/ the decals though. Did you see Boonen's new bike? The word "SPECIALIZED" enblazened on every part of that bike (which I understand for advertising reasons) but heck....Consumer bikes should have just one or two at max....one on the top or downtube and THATS IT!!!!

Ha. Because lockin' up a Tarmac Pro with Boras in a 'rough neighborhood' would be smart in the first place.

Sweet. They match perfectly. That bike just like it's meant to be ridden hard and fast.

Nice, I'm looking into getting a set of 303's for my R3. Or would 404's be better for solo riding?

I put a 303 on the front and a 404 on the back. My set-up are the pave versions for strength. I went 28 on the front and the 32 on the rear with my Powertap.

The 404's would be a bit faster at higher speeds but this combo gives you the best of both. The standard off the shelf version of this set is the 343.

The part that I don't get is the reference to the "paul thumbie" and how it fits together with the shifter.

If you come back visitordesign, a close up picture of the shifter would be awesome. You've built an amazing machine, by the way.

All such things of beauty. Especially that Cervelo. That Orbea is damn tasty aswell. I couldn't put either of my 'machines' on here. Wait till next year. I'm saving up.
