Ah-ha. I was a bit worried after doing all my homework on stronglight cranks, I finally settled on a pair of pulsion ti's. Only a day or two after I order them I see yours thinking they are some new lighter, stiffer, etc. stronglight crank. I would have been pi$$ed if they came out with something new a day after I get my pulsions!
Anyways, my new cranks-
On the subject of cranks, yours look quite long there, Pepsi. Might those be 177's?

Made in Norway
[QUOTE=Timo;5024529]I'd never go for Pulsions. Too many failures overhere in Europe. Looks nasty...
He he. Been there.........
Fun shaving grams, but I'm pretty much done with superlight cranks.

Ah, don't scare me off! I haven't even mounted them yet!
Anyways, after frequenting the weight weenies forums myself, and hearing and seeing the older models failures I felt safe with the newer one, featuring a thicker weave as the most obvious differentiation, as there are no reported failures.
Also, thats a risk that many racers take, You'll still see people buy Zipps in droves despite having more threads here on bike forums and there on W.W. about failures. The reason, more often than not, they survive their lifetime with no problems.
Lastly, despite really hammering away on the pedals at times, I'm not much of a sprinter, I have no serious mountains to climb, and lastly I weight in at a mere 132 pounds, so the stress on the cranks won't be extreme by any means.

I recall there was a thread on here within the past week or so asking folks to post pics of there broken CF frames. There were very few pictures. I appreciate steel but I am also open minded enough to see the future and to appreciate new technology.

Hey hombre, it only takes one.
Steel and aluminum and titanium fail, too, but I'd rather limp to a stop than hear the trademark crack of impending doom. The above frame is a Trek, by the way.

My new Bike;
It is a Miyata 718a from 1989. It was New-Old-Stock in the basement of a friend's shop. I am providing computer services in exchange for the bike.
It rides like a dream.

It sure isn't. I wish I could find something neat in a basement just once.

I believe a 1985 Pinarello frame bought in 87. My brother put the bike together for me and it's still going strong... Although it's probably time for a few upgrades.

You know, this is going to sound ignorant, but I don't know what is supposed to be comfortable. I do have to say that being up on the hoods doesn't feel right.
Thanks a lot for the input. I am going to talk to my dad about it and see what "the norm" is.
Thanks again!

Thanks, steaktaco. You might be right. I bought it at a local, very small, shop. I think the owner has all the bikes set up like he likes to ride.
What is the appropriate setup? It seems, from all the pics on here, that the (invisible) line from the top of bar to the hoods should be almost perfectly parallel to the ground. Is that right?
