55 cm Tommasini Diamante
Final Edit: Sold Locally at 275, probably worth more, especially considering the parts, but if I was in this for the $ then I'd be miserable
55cm square ctc, Columbus MS tubing.
Update: Measured the BB shell because I remembered something was odd about it. Measures 67.5mm to my calipers, should be 70mm as it's Italian. Might be a deal breaker for some. Pretty sure you can use Italian cups, and a 68mm spindle and it will all work.
I bought this when I lived in Houston and maybe rode it maybe 20 miles in 10 years.
I just like to look at it more than ride.
My pictures aren’t the best but I think they show condition appropriately. Rust and scratches but most of the chrome looks clean and the paint can’t be reproduced the same! See the one pic of the top tube near head tube where the paint has wrinkle/cracking. Seems straight to me, but worth pointing out
Fork is not original, should be an Air fork but this one replaced the carbon fork the previous owner had on it.
Comes with the first gen King headset, the Campagnolo seatpost in the rare 25mm size.
Sale Pending: asking $300 for now, plus shipping. I’m gonna sell it so price will drop as time goes. Really want it to go to someone who will put it back on the road.
Note the wrinkled paint near the rear of the top head tube lug. Unusual spot to see that, usually it’ll be on the bottom from a crash but all appears straight to me.

Wow, what a deal! I am so tempted but would be slightly small for me.This should go fast.
Didn't know that tube set required 25 mm post.

I’ll double check the post, I was going off memory… ok just confirmed via caliper and the post itself says 25 on the back.

I love this frame. If it were a cm or two larger, I'd be trying to make a deal.
I would wager that there was a front impact. Can you get a pic of the top tube where it meets the upper head tube lug, but underneath? I seen some cracks in the paint that seem to extend down, too.
Either way, GLWS. It looks like it'd be a really fun rider.

That is a heckuva cool frame. Columbus MS plus the Tommasini quirkiness and paint. Very cool. My size range but I am on a moratorium!

Pedal to the medal
If I wasn't already working on my Derosa and saving for non-bike things, I'd snap this up. If it's still available after some time, which I doubt, I'll revisit.

Hi,
Love the frame and is in my size. I already have a red Super Prestige in the same marble paintwork, so this would complement it perfectly.
Would you consider shipping to Australia?

I have shipped bicycles and bicycle frame sets to Australia. The best way to ship a frame is completely disassembled so that it will fit into the smallest box possible. Then I go to the post office, first ensuring that the box's length + plus girth does not exceed max allowable size. At that time, assuming you have a shipping address, you can even estimate shipping cost. Make sure you insure the package and get a tracking number. That's about it with one big warning...
Clean that frame until it is spotless! I mean it! Australian customs is very picky about dirt. A bike I shipped there, many years ago, was held up at customs for an extra month for professional cleaning at a cost to the customer of $100. Just thought you might want to know this.

I guess I could consider it. Was hoping to make the sale as easy for me as possible. But sounds like you'd really enjoy this one as a project.. We can take a look at shipping and see if it makes sense.

My blue early Diamante has the exact same rare crackle finish that would cause pause if you are thinking in terms of a conventional paint job. This is a screaming deal if frame is straight for the crown jewel of Tommasini in the mid 90's with its Columbus MS aero down tube, different stay shapes and wild BB with the original looking King. Worth finding an air fork replacement.

That's how it goes. The good news is that we are at a time on this hobby where gorgeous lugged steel bikes can be had for a reasonable amount. I have been in other hobbies where the pricing just takes off and you can't afford it as well as before.
