Peugeot PL-8
Hello everyone. I got this bike from a friend of mine. It has never been ridden in 30 years! Now I want to revive this bike. By the way, this bike looks like a PL8 model. The paint on it is the same as in the catalogue. I think it's a rare color. But from the serial number 223622, I could not find what year it was manufactured. The serial number is on the frame, and the tube carrying the seat is also written. Does anyone know what year it was produced? Also, which sites should I look at on the internet to find spare parts for this bike? Thanks....

would think it pretty much has to be a 1971 product
that was the first year for this model of Simplex Prestige shift lever
beginning with the 1972 model year they came through with the NERVAR chrome steel chainguard fitted to the DURAX chainset
you may find a date on the backside of the Simplex Prestige model 637 rear gear mech
also possible there may be a date mark inside a small diamond symbol on the RIGIDA SuperChromix wheel rims
have not before encountered this model of fork crown cap - note that in the catalogue page cited there is no fork crown cap shown
note that brake bridge is vertically drilled

I see what you mean. I might salvage the brakes and levers and donate the rest to a community bike shop or local repair shop

I wouldn’t especially if if it HiTen steel. Replacement forks aren’t really that expensive, at least not here in the US of A, so I’d go that route if I had to have this on the road

Peugeot serial numbers are notoriously "random," but a 7-digit number starting with 2 would normally indicate a 1972 manufacture date. This resembles the AO-8 model sold in the US, but with highlighted lugs and P*-10 gearing (52-45 / 14-21, rather than something like 50-36 / 14-26 or 52-40 / 14-28).

I had a bent fork on a similar Peugeot a few years back, and the straightening process I described at this link seemed to work out okay:

The pipe is curved yes! But not much. It can be fixed. The serial number is 6 digits. 223622. If it were 7 digits, we could say 1972 model. There is no number to determine the date on the rear derailleur! Rims are rigida model 73.

If the rims have the "73" in a diamond then that is the date of the rim, and likely original so your bike is probably a 1973 rather than a 1972 (remember serial numbers on Peugeots are very unlikely to give dates and seems to me to be coincidence when the number of digits = decade number.....).
Be aware when you go to straighten the forks that in my experience Peugeot forks are made of "al dente pasta" and bend very easily - both in the way you want and in the way you don't - so be careful not to work harden the metal as you bend it.
BTW - I love the colour as that seems to be the same as my AO-8
(Sorry to those who have seen me post this before - not often I see Peugeots in this colour or even close to it).

Oops -- my bad. I was expecting to see a 7-digit number, so I miscounted. Also, I have never seen a Peugeot serial number in that location, although it is common with several other marques, including Allegro and Capo.
