Schwinn Traveler

Hi all, not sure if this is the right section as this bike is classified as "urban", but it seems to fit here the best.

Would the Schwinn Traveler be a good bike for daily riding only a few miles on country roads with some rolling hills and a few dirt/light rock roads? I'm looking for a decent bike with fenders and a rack to use as daily transportation. I'm not about getting anywhere fast so as long as its dependable and not too heavy I'd be happy. Also does anyone know the max tire size this bike will accept?

Traveler Mens | Schwinn Bicycles

Thanks.

Its a city/commuter bike which I guess would also make it a hybrid bike.

The Schwinn Traveler is a Schwinn Signature Line bike sold in bike shops:

Its a premium quality Schwinn. According to the listed specs, it has Kenda K-192 38 c tires. Which are plenty for all-around riding.

Traveller name has been applied to a Succession of bikes by Them over the Decades and various manufacturer contracts .

Once they closed down the US factories ..

Does anyone have any suggestions on what might be a better option? My only requirement is fenders/rack, and some gears for climbs.

It comes complete with a rack, fenders, 38 c tires, an 11-34 cassette and 22-32-44 crankset. Seriously, what more do you need to commute and to climb hills? The high threaded quill stem is an advantage since you can set the bars where you want them, something not possible with a threadless ahead set style stem.

For hills, that single chainring setup is going to limit you. Look for something with more gears
