Cool article. I like what it said about the Ishiwata frame tubing bikes being a bargain. My 1979 Trek 510, which is full Ishiwata chrome-moly steel, is one of my favorite bikes, as is my 1978 Trek TX 900. This thread needs a lot of pics of early Treks,

Well, I can't quite meet the cutoff date of 1979, but here is a pic of my '81-ish 9xx series with a donor wheelset while the original set gets new tubbies...

Neat article. I never owned a Trek or worked in one of their shops, but I always respected the bikes they made. I remember checking them out at Westlake Cyclery in Westlake Village, CA. Apparently they're still there!
