Silca track pump

I just picked up a very nice looking black Silca track pump that works but, the gauge doesn't work. Any suggestion where to start in troubleshooting the gauge?

somewhere within reach of the pump would probably be best. Maybe in your basement or garage?

does the pump work? does it inflate tires? I am not sure if you can reair the guage itself, but try just removing it from the pump and make sure it is not clogged.

There are a couple of retailers (or online) who specialize in track gear but I don't have their names or links handy.

I've always kept an eye open for a Silca floor pump, supposed to be one of the few which can pump to 200psi without the head blowing off the stem.

If the gauge is threaded on then maybe a generic one could be used, check welding and auto supply shops.

it IS threaded (at least mine is) but chances are good that the threads are metric. Check before you buy a NPT-threaded replacement.

Thread dredge, but I was looking to replace the gauge on my old Pista and didn't want to pay Silca prices.
I can confirm that the thread on mine is indeed 1/8 NPT (G1/8)
I just went for the quickest and easiest solution Wika 0-16 bar (RS 222-7899) but this only displays pressure in bar so I'm getting used to the 14.5x conversion

I have an orange Silca from about 1980. The gauge itself unscrews from the main brass piece, sealed with an aluminum crush washer. Take the gauge out, see if the inlet is blocked or crudified. Solvent down the hole won’t hurt anything. On the backside there are 2 screws, pry off the clear lens, take out the screws, and you can expose the clockwork. If that’s corroded the gauge won’t work properly. Spray that with solvent/oil, let that soak. Don’t bend or try to take apart any of the clockwork. Unless the gauge is broken you should be able to get it going again. An air compressor helps.

BSPT thread. I used the 0 - 200 psi one.
Unfortunately, it's a product of china.

Excellent advice, this worked very well - lube freed it all up and a quick massage of the leather washer had the pump back in service and putting track tubs up to 120psi with ease - Thanks a lot
