Did 50ks this arvo
Hot 27c humid 80% and windy 40ks head winds
the last 5ks was a struggle
See it doesn't have to be cold to make it hard

I got in 5 miles on the trainer last night and 10 miles this morning. Knee seems to be doing better. I'll take tomorrow off and give the knee a rest.

Got out around 6pm for a ten mile ride this evening. It was freaking dark out! I'm really mourning the loss of eastern daylight time. Four cateye lights: 2 heads and 2 tails.

Another ten mile ride after work today. A bit earlier than yesterday and not quite as dark.

vschippy,
Could you please define ARVO? I imagine this is an Australian slang but I cannot for the life of me figure it out.

22 ish miles today.

Was supposed to meet up with a Social Ride Group today but being my usual disorganised self left home late then got lost so I missed the start of the ride but found a route on the Google Maps and met up with them at the Cafe stop.

So had a gorgeous hot chocolate and joined them for the rest of the ride down country lanes and some seriously muddy trails, including having to wade through puddles at stiles which they put on the trails to stop motorbikes etc being ridden on them.

There was a huge puddle all round the base of it and though a couple of people managed to ride through it most of us took the wet feet option.

The trails also had ice on them so I was more cautious than usual but a great ride for all that.

Back in S. Florida and got in 36 miles today and have had a pretty good week. Feels strange not having four layers as I was wearing in NY.

Another 100 miler. Not the fastest one I've done but not the slowest either. I'm okay with it for this time of year.

I will refrain from using Australian colloquialisms .
But your explanation is perfect....

Smoko over here in Australia
Is a term used for a morning or afternoon tea with a cigarette break.
When smoking was not so frowned upon LOL

Finally I can say I went for a ride. The first time in over 8 weeks as I was in Ecuador and having a great time. I can say I felt it bye the time I got home, Almost 48 miles. I think I need to break in my butt too. It was sure good to be on the bike again though. Great weather for a ride too.

Woke up at 03:45 and could tell I was coming down with or do have a full blown cold. Took my meds and went back to bed. I wasn't sure I'd do a ride. Finally got up around 07:15 and took the rest of my am meds and decided I'd try a ride. Temps were around 36ºF but would be mid 50s in a couple of hours. I figured I wanted to do 40+ mile ride and stop at home half-way to dress more appropriately for the warmer temp. Did 43 miles.

34 mile club ride this afternoon: Jolly Old St. Nick Bicycle Cruise. Honest. Conditions were brutal for December - around 60F, dry, a little windy at times.
Did I have some leg cramping near the end because this was the longest I've ridden for at least a month or was it because I tried to hang with/catch up to the lead group for the first ten miles? (Unsuccessfully but a great workout) Or both?
It was almost too warm for the hot chocolate at the SAG.
CraigB did the ride, too.

First day of December, and it was 71° f here! Days like today beg me to take the bicycle out, so I went on a short 7 mile jaunt, and once again tried and failed to conquer Rock Hill in one go. Going down that hill sure is fun though!

I need to adjust my brakes again. Slowing down gently, my front wheel sounds like one of those air-horns. It sounds as LOUD as said air-horns as well.

Please don't stop using the colloquialisms in your post. If you use the words in your everyday conversations you should use them here, too. I just couldn't figure out the meaning. Thanks Denver, I should have known you would know how to find the meaning, I am not quick enough to think of using google for this.

You probably mean the less earthy colloquialisms.

I never thought I had to say that, Jan, the members here can pretty well control their language. I didn't mean that at all.

managed to fit in a 25 mile ride without getting rained on too much. Not sure it made much difference, as it was so humid I was soaked anyway. Felt like a San Antonio summer, kinda.

Still, it was really nice to be out on the bike instead of on the stationary mind killer in the garage.

'sokay Jan, you were fine, I need to be clearer when I post.

So this gets back on its intended topic, I had a nice ride this afternoon, it was an absolutely beautiful day. Sunny, mild SE breeze and 73*F when I rode. The cotton crops are in now and the bales have been picked up. The fields let the wind come across now on the legs that run between the fields, gives me some cross-wind workout as a change. Cannot wait until tomorrow, supposed to be even warmer.
