My cousin is down from Lincoln City, Oregon, and he says it seems like summer down here. I guess he spent last week moving dropped trees from all the ice. Seems like we are getting the more typical winter this year. The spring fed waterfall on the Lafayette/Moraga trail is back flowing.

This winter in Calif has been nothing like 22-23, we're at 50% of average snowpack for the date. Encouraging to see running water at all.

The snowpack numbers should be much improved a week from now, since we're looking at daily rain until Wed/Thu.

Luckily, reservoirs are in great shape with all the carryover water from last year.

Looks like we're in a fairly dry spell. Yay! It's giving the landscape time to drain and the municipalities time to repair our many washed out roads. The cat even went out to the backyard this morning.

Fingers crossed that after this weather there will be a dry spell again for a week or two at least. Got a taste of some warmer weather this past weekend when I rode out to the Marin Headlands. It was almost 70 degrees and just a gorgeous day.

(gurgle glug glug) The rain hasn't stopped since it began around 1:00 a.m.; the rivers, creeks (we have a lot of both), and roads are starting to flood. Crazy high winds last night but somehow we didn't lose power. As of midnight temp was 68, this morning it was 57, right now it's 53.

I donated blood yesterday, so no bike ride for me today!

Yup, but (so far at least) the weather prognostications seem to show a potential dry spell and temperature increase starting around the 10th.

Well I understand there is some lag but I rode this morning and it was great. I did get a little wet and hid under a tree for a while but then the sun was out and it was glorious. i sat for a while at a table in Walden Park as the sun came out and warmed me up. Plus very very annoying dogs.

It's called "fainting due to low blood volume". No rain this afternoon, so I took a walk and ran some errands. My knee is only mildly annoyed, which is encouraging. It's raining now, of course.

Well, it rained on and off so my group went for coffee. Putting out the trash when I got back I had an empty green waste can so decide to fill it. Lots of branches down and for some reason I decided to go for one hanging in the tree. On a slight slope I soon found my feet up over my head. Laid there a bit in the mud hoping I didn't break anything. Brushed off and finished filling the can. 6 hours later I'm feeling every muscle from my waist up. I'm going to complain a lot in the morning, lol.

Went out for a short ride this morning. Between showers. Missed all but one just before getting home. There was a pretty big hole in the clouds but I think they can pile up when hitting Mt Diablo and then dump some more. Now I am sitting under the back porch watching the wind blow around the trees. It is interesting how the different types behave. Whoops one gust just blew my glasses off the table. I am reminded how John Muir would climb up a tree in a gale and enjoy the experience. Hope you are all well.

53F in Waldon Park right now. I sat down at the picnic table when there was a hole in the clouds and it felt great. Now a few minutes later the clouds have moved and it feels pretty cold. But I really love riding my local MUPs in this weather, very little traffic.
