I use a rectangular soft case that is a nice fit in my center pocket. I don't notice it at all when I'm riding. Left pocket for phone. Right pocket for snacks.

I just had a huge serving of very spicy panamg curry, perhaps that will ward it off.

And, that is where the Domane down tube storage is really nice. Everything I need fits in there. Only thing I need to put in the pocket is my phone.

Friend showed up with a bag similar to this one day. I think he had a bunch of rain gear in it.

Funny, I don't really notice those burrito bar bags. I don't have one but people I ride with do and they are unobtrusive, imho.
I always have a seatpack on the road but I need more room than those tiny ones have. When we used to go into the mountains sometimes I would even wear a Camelbak for the water storage. I tried wearing it to carry a big jacket when it was cold but went back to stuffing the pockets with layers.

First off, I don't wear my jerseys that tight. Second, I use the center rear pocket so that I have room in the left pocket for Jimmy Johns Gargantuan sub and the right for a 20oz. bottle of coke.

You don't get excited by a freshly roasted bag? Where's the excitement in your life, geez?

I agree but I come from a racing culture background where bags are to be as small as possible or use a jersey pocket. In my case, I'm too forgetful to use a jersey pocket so I use a small seat bag about the size of my dainty fist on both of my uprights. If it's chilly, I often carry an empty wide mouth water bottle to cram tights, arm warmers or anything else I can force in there. Where I live, a single 550ml water bottle will carry you to the next water stop on almost any ride. Makes that second water bottle cage a handy storage location.
You may even be old enough to have had pockets on the fronts of your jerseys!

Next week this time, I'll be a grouchy old geezer like Mo. No time for excitement.

While you dodge the bullet, my sister and my BIL are staring down the bore. It looks as if Ian will wade ashore right about where they live. Then stand around for a long while lashing the area with wind, waves, and torrential rain. Luckily, they're not the least bit prone to thinking "We'll ride this one out", so they've been preparing for a solid week and are ready to bug out if need be.

I like the look of a clutter free seatpost and handlebars, but I feel safer with the Varia and the taillight on the back and a flashie light in front, and as long as I have the Varia it needs to display someplace so I have a head unit, too. And I could forgo a saddle bag, but I'd have to stash the same volume - and mass - of that stuff in my jersey pockets, and frankly, that looks worse to me than a small, neat saddle bag.
EDIT: And from the saddle, I can't see it anyway. Stuff in my jersey pockets, I can feel.

Well, you’re also from the days when a bag was a tubular in an old sock held on with a toe strap with maybe a dime for a phone call thrown in. I seem to remember us (elites) looking down on anyone who actually used a “bag,” which, now that I think about it, is where the scrotum thing came from.

My jerseys were wool, shorts too, but my pockets were in the back until I rode low racers.

My first jersey, circa 1976, was cheap, scratchy, wool and had a front pocket, maybe two, with (a) button(s). Ah, yes, a hex key for sure. If I had folding money, I tucked it up in the leg of my shorts with my house key.

Not a tent. This guy tries all kinds of things. I've seen him on so many different bikes using so many different things. He came on a mountain ride with his Atlantis sporting fenders and still dropped most of us.
Found a pic of the Atlantis with him sitting on the ground next to it. Posted this one before.

Our first day of state sponsored not obligatory masking. I went into my accountant's office, masked, and found him unmasked. Then to the vet, unmasked, and found them masked. Costco was about 25% unmasked, including me. Liberating.
