Identifying freehub

We had a buttload of tubular wheels donated to our community bike shop. We can't use them so I'll be flipping them or giving them away.

Is this an HG M spline? I'm more familiar with the "full-width" spline rather than this more "hollowed out" style. Is there any compatibility issues I need to be aware of?

No. It's just HG. Not microspline if that is what you are thinking. The hollowed out large spline might just be weight weenism since this is DuraAce. And about 14 years old at that.

Most of the later versions of the Shimano 8/9/10 speed freehub bodies had the 'hollowed out' splines. Also present on 11 speed bodies, just a little longer. Excepts standard HG splined cassettes.

The method that the freehub body attached to the hub shell has a few variations, but not an issue if you keep the hub together.

Thanks friends. Good to hear that it accepts standard HG cassettes.

I wasn't thinking microspline. My understanding is that what's commonly called HG 8-10 is designated by Shimano as the HG spline M, 11 speed designated HG spline L and 12 speed, HG spline L2 for DuraAce or GRX wheelsets. I didn't use "spline" in the designation in the original post, so it was a bit misleading.

FH-7900 is Dura Ace.
Google it. Lots of info.
If you have a matched set, hang them on the wall with a pricey "for sale" sign.

A few years ago I went through some of my freehub bodies and weighed them on a kitchen scale. In the spirit of weight weenism...

DA-7700 (Ti) - 113gr
XTR-M950 (Ti) - 114gr
DX-M650 (7 Spd) - 117gr
Ultegra 6402 - 122gr
105-5700 (Hollow) - 122gr
Sora 3300 (Hollow) - 128gr
XT-M760 (Hollow) - 128gr
XT-M732 (7 Spd) - 133gr

Unfortunately, I'll likely have to give these away pretty much. DuraAce front and back laced to Mavic Reflex tubulars with spokes tied and rims mounted with Vitorrio Pave Evo tubulars. A nice tire if a little poor wearing, particularly for heavy riders. The average joe blow around here doesn't want tubulars and with the 7900 series being discontinued around 2013 for the 9000 series, it's unlikely anyone racing will want these. But you've inspired me to try it on and ask for some money before I let them go out the door for free. Or maybe I'll build up a bike around 'em
