I live in South Georgia. The roads are clear of everything but roadkill pretty much year round.

Cheers snowbirds,
Michael

- poll doesn't make sense down here... the season is just starting! (finally, some days below 90F with lows in the mid-60s!)

I just finished a new build this evening. Can't wait to get it on the road for a test. Temperature is 26 F at the moment. Maybe it will warm up a little tomorrow.

Actually my season is just starting as I only got back into riding beginning of August. Plan on riding through the winter here on LI, NY.

I ride in the snow and the ice as much as possible. . My season is always in season. I do switch to off road when the ice is badly rutted, so I won't get tossed onto traffic.
Why stop riding in the winter? It's cheaper than going skiing. You end up with good legs going into spring.

You need a selection in the poll for riding when the roads are not clear.

Indeed, Tires skid better on the snow, and wiping out is a larf anyways!

Hope for 2 or 3 more good rides before the weather turns bad. Might manage a couple of hundred more miles before New Years.

Normally I only manage only one or two rides a month in December, January and February. Sometimes every weekend is bad and I don't tide at all.

I ride year-round. Will continue 100-120 miles/week right on through this slightly cooler and darker period that most of you know as "winter".

Snowed here last night and today with wind chills in the single digits, so I rode the trainer today. I plan to get another 50 miles in before going completely indoors.

I've still got a minimum of 130 kms to do to reach my annual kilometer-age goal, and a century to do in December to wrap up my Century-A-Month thing! I can't stop now!!

I have the most ridiculous winter kit to wear. I was describing it to a friend's mom, and she asked me if I'd ever been mistaken as indigent. I've got to go out and work my anti-OCP mojo in my grody old trench coat and wool socks pulled up over my pant-legs. I can't manage to look half this sketchy during the summer.

I dont ride at night: 5 pm is cave in time and roads are too lonely. Drivers are too distracted, making risk of dying bleeding to death on the bushes too high.

I dont ride in the ice or snow: 5 pm is cave in time and roads are too lonely. Drivers are too distracted, making risk of dying bleeding to death on the bushes too high.

So my commuting is reduced already to 80 miles a week, if schedule and road conditions permitting - sigh - whatchagonnadoaboudit.

Is threadmill time at home for me; somehow I am managing to compensate the time in the zone.

Winter came last night. Had to walk to the office this morning, as I'm too timid to ride with slicks on ice. But I'm getting studded tires for my old bike, which will bring it back from retirement. Training on the roller in the garage continues as usual.

My season's just starting - semester's almost over, I have time to do things like sleep, and soon I'll have time to do things like ride more than the 20mi/day i do for my commute.

If I avoided riding whenever there were old people, rednecks, and guns everywhere, I'd never get on my bike
